Who knew that a movie about Arnold Schwarzenegger wrestling and battling an alien that hunts humans would give rise to a nearly 40-year-old franchise? The film series, which began in 1987, has since had five main installments, with the latest being Prey released in 2022—a prequel to the main story. Loyal fans of the franchise have been eager for another film, and luckily for them, it looks like Disney heard their prayers.
Recently at CinemaCon 2025, Disney unveiled the first footage of Predator: Badlands for a select few attendees. Slated for release on November 7 this year, the footage showed a Predator on a hunt across several stunning planets beyond just Earth. The sneak peek received a positive response from those in attendance and has since left fans hyped, eagerly waiting to see the footage for themselves, as it hasn’t been released anywhere else yet.
Hilarious Internet Reactions
Fans were quite surprised by the reveal, as they weren’t expecting Disney to showcase it at CinemaCon, and took to the internet to share their hilarious thoughts on it:
"Another predator movie? What's this # 527? Do we really need another predator movie?????" a user asked.
"Whats after this? another Aliens movie? can we get something new? or is it about appealing to people in their 40s and 50's who grew up watching these characters...?" another fan question.
Many users have expressed annoyance over the news of another Predator movie, saying the franchise has already been milked dry.
"So they’re looking for the most superior to add to their dna huh these guys never give up," a user stated.
"Never knew I needed a predator movie that actually follows a predator as the protagonist. This sounds awesome," wrote another.
Until now, Predator movies have always focused on a group of protagonists being hunted by the Predator. But now, fans are getting a film where the Predator is the protagonist.
"Excited for the hunt!," another opined.
"Inject it into my bloodstream," a user said.
Talk about being so hyped for a film that watching it isn’t enough—you want to inject it into your bloodstream! This fan is going to make it to the first day, the first show… the second, and the last—basically every show.
