After creating and writing successful series like Fargo and Legion, Noah Hawley looks all set to direct his next big venture - the next installment of the massively popular Alien franchise, first started by acclaimed director Ridley Scott himself. Titled Alien: Earth, the series is expected to be released this summer on Hulu in the United States.

Hulu just dropped the first clip from Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth series. The show will be a prequel to the original 1979 film Alien, taking place in 2120, two years before the events of that movie, and will explore humanity’s initial encounter with the Xenomorphs on Earth. The clip has left fans excited and eager to see how the prequel series will unfold.

Hilarious Internet Reactions

Netizens took to social media to share their thoughts on the first clip of Alien: Earth, and some of them had plenty of amusing things to say about it.

"No blood? on disney? pass," a user said.

Disney has been acquiring everything left and right - from Pixar and Marvel to even Lucasfilm. And this user hilariously seems convinced that they’ve acquired the Alien franchise too, and are about to ‘Disneyfy’ it by making it kid-friendly. Well, he can rest easy since the show has been confirmed to be on Hulu.

"Earth got promoted from background character 🌍," joked another.

Ah, finally! Earth has been promoted from a background character to featuring in the very title of an Alien franchise project after more than 45 years of installments, as this user points out. Someone finally gave our planet the love it doesn’t often get!

What about Predator? (via @imswaciey / X)

Now that we have a prequel series exploring the origin of Xenomorphs from the 1979 movie Alien, does this mean there’s hope for a similar show about the Predator franchise too?

"Might be everything the godawful Alien 3 wasn't!" a user wrote.

Looks like Alien 3 left a bad taste in many fans' mouths, who are hoping that Alien: Earth undoes all that damage. We believe in you, Noah Hawley!

"How many of these things are they gonna make," asked another.

In a world of prequels, sequels, reboots, and remakes, it seems not everyone is as excited about movies as they used to be. Originals are what’s hot!

The first clip of Alien: Earth has certainly piqued people’s interest, with many hoping it undoes the damage caused by the poorly received previous installments. Well, only a few months to go until we find out!
