The trailer of Marvel Studios' upcoming film Fantastic Four: First Steps has been a hot topic of discussion among fans ever since it was released. In particular, fans were surprised that Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic, played by Pedro Pascal) did not show his extended powers.

However, finally, a clip offered a glimpse of Reed Richards, but fans commented, saying, "There's something strange about this clip."

Many fans believe that his extended hand was probably covered in darkness, which was edited out of the trailer. One X user commented, "I'll give you $10; he's writing on the left side of the board with his other hand."

So far, there has been no official explanation from Marvel Studios about Mister Fantastic's enhanced powers. However, there is a lot of speculation among fans about this edit. Meanwhile, other characters' powers in the movie have been seen in the Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer. Sue Storm is seen creating her invisible ball, Johnny Storm is seen flying in the sky showing his fire powers, and Ben Grimm (The Thing) is seen turning into his rocky form.

Something weird about the clip (via pmwithyom/ X)

There's a vibe around the first footage of Mr. Fantastic displaying his powers. Fans are pointing out that there's just... something off.

Is it something specific about Pedro? Overexposure? Or just one of those “I can't explain it, I just don't vibe with him” situations? @VVitchOmen commented.

"It's Pedro Pascal, I'll have nothing positive to say about it even if its good."

@proto1138 corrected the statement. With how dramatically Marvel makes everything, they probably thought this would be a “cinematic moment.”

"First look at Pedro Pascal stretching… fixed it for you…"

Is Reed Richards perfect? (via uncommonspice/ X)

It looks like not many are ready to accept Pascal as Mr. Fantastic.

Between the casting, the weird VFX, and the Marvel fatigue creeping in, plenty of fans are already like, “I’ll catch it when it hits streaming… maybe.” @aceyflamez commented.

"K, looks like another movie I’m skipping this year"

Like, yes, we’ve all seen some dude at the gym or yoga class pull off a stretch that looks more convincing than this $200 million MCU rubber-limb moment. @Greenpig117 remarked about the clip.

"I’ve seen people with stretchy powers irl and I can tell you it looks nothing like this"

Animated versions get a pass sometimes (like in The Incredibles or One Piece), but in live-action? It almost always ends up looking goofy, according to @Luckyjoint180.

"Lamest power ever"

@BSWarren3 found a resemblance with the gravity spike.

"Is he holding the funky gravity spike from Thor: The Dark World?"

Now the question arises, why did Marvel Studios not show Reed Richards' enhanced powers in the trailer? Some believe that this power may be difficult to implement and or that the mystery should prevail.
