In a plot twist that no Marvel fan could foresee, Kevin Feige, the mind behind many MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), is concerned about the Russo Brothers potentially directing the next Avengers film. Russo brothers delivered The Electric State for the sci-fi-adventure lovers.

Well, let us just say there were thoughts about how good the movie was. While it is not uncommon for audiences to have their individual opinions about a film, this time the person concerned is not just another viewer. It is Kevin Feige.

When the buzz broke, netizens of course did what they have (an undeclared) phD for: unpacking the layers of the buzz with rib-tickling humor and a sprinkle of sarcasm.

For those who may not have developed the habit of scrolling through film buzz, the Russo Brothers are renowned for directing the mega-blockbusters Infinity War and Endgame. Recently they chose to direct an ambitious adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel.

Although the movie was only recently released (on March 14, 2025), some reviews were not particularly positive. However, we will leave wise comments for the movie fans and netizens.

As we are waiting at the edge of our seats, the latest buzz has us wondering if a green light or a thumbs up will come for the Russo brothers' next superhero showdown.

Somewhere between 'trust the process' and 'who asked for this' we are also witnessing countless chaotic debates take place. The Feige buzz has made this episode nothing short of a sitcom. Will placing our trust in the Russo Brothers with the upcoming Avengers film be like letting that one friend who always ruins the punchline of your joke at your house parties?

Or could be a surprisingly marvelous direction where we perceive our known superheroes in a completely refreshing light? Well, we cannot give an answer to that yet.

This has been a mess since July 27, 2024 when they made this announcement:

He could have been doing that this whole time?

I would argue that Kevin being a helicopter parent will make the film even worse

I mean CITADEL wasn’t enough of a sign?

One last before we sign off, (@TarantulaGraham/X)

Why hasn’t he done this for every single production since endgame

Last thoughts

Feige has been the producer who offered us some of the most iconic Marvel movies like Punisher: War Zone (2008), Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), and Iron Man 2 (2010). On the other hand, the Russo brothers were the duo who offered us Endgame and Infinity War (and so much of tears that we mopped the floor with our t-shirts at some point).

However, we are excited to see who wins in the tug-of-war between Feige's concern and the Russo brothers' potential.

Till then, save your eye rolls and keep your fries reheated!
