Ever since the concept art for Avengers: Doomsday (set for a 2026 release) and Avengers: Secret Wars (coming in 2027) surfaced online, fans have been speculating whether it’s real, a fake leak by someone posing as a Marvel artist, or a deliberate move by the studio to build hype. Now, the directors of both films, the Russo Brothers, have finally addressed the leaked concept art.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Russo Brothers clarified that the recently circulated Avengers: Doomsday concept art isn’t real, adding that there’s nothing to spoil since it’s not their artwork. The revelation sparked mixed reactions among fans—some were relieved, as they disliked the designs, while others were disappointed because they loved them.

Hilarious Fan Reactions

Fans had plenty of hilarious reactions to the Russo Brothers’ response to the leaks and wasted no time sharing them online.

"They were cool, of course are fake," a fan wrote.

All the leaked concept art images looked incredibly cool to fans, so of course, the leaks must be fake—at least according to this fan’s hilarious take. If only they were dull and drawn with dirty crayons!

"That’s the clever fake title, designed to confuse everyone and keep fans guessing," pointed another.

Aha, we see what you’re up to, Russo Brothers—throwing out a clever fake title to keep everyone guessing, only to blow their minds in theaters with something completely unexpected. Classic textbook trick, but this user has you figured out!

Sure... (via @MovieMediaX / X)

Looks like many fans believe the concept art leaks for Avengers: Doomsday were actually real. If that’s the case, then the Russo Brothers’ denial of the leaks might just be hiding extreme nervousness underneath—because now they’ll have to make the movie look completely different from the leaks!

"They should have casted the Peaky blinder Tom as Dr. DOOM," a fan said.

It seems this fan has seen too much of Robert Downey Jr. in Marvel movies and would rather have someone else play Dr. Doom—perhaps Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders, played by Cillian Murphy.

"Or it might be possible they released it and when people didn't like the art, they came up with the fact they didn't do it. 🤐," believed another.

Interesting point—what if the concept art was intentionally released to test audience reactions? But wouldn't that take the excitement out of it if it turned out to be true?

After days of fan speculation and anticipation, the Russo Brothers have finally dismissed the leaked concept art as fake. Time to let our imaginations run wild about what the characters in Avengers: Doomsday will actually look like!
