Marvel claims Moon Knight is making a comeback in the MCU, just not in Season 2. One moment, you're dreaming about a second season filled with Oscar Isaac's brilliance, and the next, Marvel's saying yes and no at the same time.

Marvel Studios' head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, told ComicBook.com:

“And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

From confusion over who’s in charge to frustration over another missed opportunity, the disbelief is real.

One X user commented:

"Who the hell making the decisions over there at Disney."

One dramatic user joked:

"I just fell to my knees in a walmart"

A user ironically stated:

"Of course, don’t renew something good/interesting. Why would you want to do that."

Whether it’s calling out Marvel’s shaky direction or questioning why Moon Knight gets sidelined while She-Hulk moves forward, fans sound fed up.

A comment read:

"Same old Marvel, never change, keep making slop decisions."

Another comment read:

"Moon knight can’t get a season 2 but “she hulk” can??????"

A user quipped:

"It seems like mcu isn't sure what they want to do anymore."

Moon Knight's wild ride

Moon Knight graced our screens in March 2022. It was a mix of a superhero show and an advanced psychology class. The mercenary Marc Spector managed his dissociative identity disorder while also dealing with Egyptian gods and truly deranged villains.

Oscar Isaac delivered an intense performance in addition to breathtaking cinematography and a unique plot that blended action with mystery and psychological drama to keep audiences completely engaged.

The finale introduced a third personality, Jake Lockley. And just when we thought we had Moon Knight figured out, Marvel hit us with a cliffhanger.

Fans were all set for a second season to unpack the mystery, but Winderbaum confirmed that while a second season isn’t happening, Moon Knight will be back in the MCU. The how and when is a complete mystery. Thanks, Brad. Very helpful.

Why no Moon Knight Season 2?

Turns out, Marvel’s been doing some strategic reshuffling.

Instead of standalone, limited-series introductions they reportedly want shows that function like traditional TV—annual releases, multiple seasons, the whole shebang, as was explained by Winderbaum to the media outlet.

This explains why Loki got a second season, WandaVision turned into spin-offs, and Moon Knight got ghosted (for now).

But Marvel isn’t about to let a character as complex and beloved as Moon Knight vanish into the ether.

Winderbaum's comments suggest that the studio is thinking long-term. Marvel is exploring various approaches to reintegrate Moon Knight into their content by potentially including him in upcoming films or crossover productions.

Moon Knight may return through a potential adaptation of The Midnight Suns a supernatural team from Marvel Comics that Isaac has confirmed his interest in.

Another possibility is that Moon Knight gets woven into an upcoming film, perhaps in a post-credit scene or as a key supporting character in another hero’s storyline.

He could pop up in Blade, given the supernatural themes, or even intersect with Doctor Strange’s multiversal adventures.

Fans have been vocal—some mourning the lost second season, others hyped about Moon Knight possibly joining a bigger team.
