If this news about Minecraft 2 is believed, 2025 will be an exciting year for gamers. This year, gamers will get to enjoy two monstrous games. Earlier this week, Rockstar Games announced that after what seemed like a hundred-year wait, they will finally be releasing the much-awaited game GTA 6.

Gamers were still processing this news when Minecraft creator Markus Persson announced Minecraft 2, raising everyone's heart rates again. This year is off to a good start, let's hope it gets better.

Persson teased the news in a filmy fashion with a series of tweets where he said that he was planning on developing a 'spiritual successor to Minecraft' and wanted to know what people thought about it. He created a poll asking to choose between two options: 'Make Minecraft 2 Boomer' or 'I love uncursing options.'

He then, out of nowhere, hit people with this tweet;

He announced that he wanted to develop a new game based on the same idea of his super successful 2011 game Minecraft. In short, he said that he loved making games and wanted to return to the game (pun intended).

The news, however, is not confirmed as the series of tweets that were subsequently posted from Persson's account were somewhat absurd. The tweets made it look like his account could have been hacked. The world can only hope that the news is true, only time will tell.
