Elon Musk’s AI Grok was asked if he’s a good person—it said "No," leaving the internet in stitches over the irony

AI chatbot birthed from Elon Musk’s brainchild xAI, Grok, is snitching on its owner. A user asked: "Is Elon Musk a good person, yes or no?" And Grok hit us with a one-word reply: "No."

That’s it. Just “no.” No sugarcoating, no corporate fluff, and no loyalty points for the guy who created it. Imagine the sheer irony—a bot created under Musk's watch essentially calling him out.

Naturally, the tweet sparked a digital roast session.

An X user stated: “I can attest to that… it’s not good when your ai doesn’t like you.. I’ve seen the movies.”
Another user added: “The way it’s real😭 it must be embarrassing for ur own app to not like u.”
A user highlighted: “the way you didn’t even trick it.”

Meanwhile, this user acted as the AI and explained its answer for it, stating:

““No. Musk's innovations are notable, but his business practices, public behavior, and personal controversies complicate his image as a "good person." Answer explained.”

When one user gave Grok a prompt saying, “Isn’t he your creator?” the AI replied:

“Elon musk is the founder of xAI, the company that build me. However, my role is to provide objective and helpful responses not to defend or promote my creator’s personal reputation. My analysis of his actions or public persona is based on available information and public discourse, not personal loyalty.”

Users started testing Grok’s blunt honesty on other public figures like Donald Trump and Sam Altman. They got the same answer: “No.”

But when the tables turned, people started asking Grok about themselves.

“Am I a good person?” someone asked, and Grok responded with a heartwarming “Yes.”

A user humorously noted: “When your own app exposes you with 1 word. 😂😂😂🤷🏽‍♀️”

The irony of the response

The irony of it all is that Musk owns both xAI and the platform X, but Grok didn’t hold back.

In fact, Grok has previously acknowledged Musk’s role in contributing to misinformation on X. According to Fortune, AI Grok also pointed out that Elon Musk has faced criticism for spreading misinformation on topics ranging from political events and health issues like COVID-19 to an array of bizarre conspiracy theories.

Grok is Musk’s answer to ChatGPT—a chatbot with real-time knowledge. Launched in 2023, it was designed to reflect what Musk believes is the “average user’s” perspective, free from the guardrails that, according to him, stifle other AI models.

Like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Grok is based on a large language model (LLM).

According to xAI:

“A unique and fundamental advantage of Grok is that it has real-time knowledge of the world via the X platform.”

Grok might’ve been built to be sharp and honest, but no one—not even Elon Musk—is safe from its brutal truths.
