We never imagined we'd be talking about Elon Musk and Assassin's Creed Shadows in the same paragraph, but here we are. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla engaged in a back-and-forth argument with Twitch streamer HasanAbi—and somehow, ex-game executive Mark Edward Kern (aka Grummz) is also included.

It all began when Hasan wrote on X that he was playing Assassin's Creed Shadows and thoroughly enjoying it. He even went ahead to urge everyone to give it a try for a new pro gaming experience. So far, so good—just a normal post hyping up a game, right?

That's when Grummz decided to jump in, firing a shot at Ubisoft, accusing the company of supporting some individuals on its platform—while retweeting Hasan's post.

Then came Elon Musk. Musk supported Grummz, labeling Hasan as a "sellout" and a "fraud." Musk went so far as to say,

"Objectively, he is promoting a terrible game just for the money."

Assassin's Creed pokes fun at Elon Musk

By this time, there were already arguments happening as to whether Assassin's Creed Shadows was any good or not. But then, Ubisoft just could not take it anymore and decided to clap back at Elon Musk.

The Assassin's Creed account sent a brutal reply:

"Is that what the guy playing your Path of Exile 2 account told you?"

If you don't get the reference, just know it was an epic roast. The joke refers to how Musk once confessed to using services to push his game rank up in Path of Exile 2.

Grummz supported Elon Musk by posting an article stating Assassin's Creed Shadows isn't the huge hit Ubisoft requires. He was essentially taunting the developers, implying that their game was no good.

But Ubisoft wasn't going to let them get away with it—they just responded with:

"Our game is out."

In case you're curious what that response was about, here's some background.

Grummz is a game developer, but his more recent work has been controversy-ridden. One of them is Ember, a game he's been hyping for years.

Despite raising more than $600,000 on crowdfunding, it's still in a very early pre-alpha state. This has led many to wonder whether the game will ever be completed.

At this point, everyone is watching the exchange with an expression of wonder.

Hasan and Elon Musk exchange virtual jabs

Now, Hasan challenged Elon Musk to a duel in Elden Ring. As he did, he also resurrected the debate on how Musk once hired someone to level up his character in a game—ironically, while accusing another person of being a fraud.

For some reason, Grummz remains loyal to Musk.

He retweeted Hasan's duel challenge and asserted that Musk has never paid someone to advance his character in a game—despite the fact that Musk himself had confessed to doing so previously.

Grummz also accused Hasan of accepting money from Assassin's Creed to promote their game on Twitch.

Elon Musk leaped into Grummz's post, referring to Hasan as a "chickenshit retard" and stating that Hasan blocked him immediately after he dared him to a duel.

He even posted a screenshot of Hasan's profile as proof.

Again, Grummz poked fun at Hasan, writing:

"LOL, "I challenge you!" *runs*"

Replying to the same, Hasan wrote:

"if elon isn't chickenshit, he'll come on the stream. we all know he won't. he ducked mark zuckerberg, he ran away from jon stewart and now he's ducking a twitch streamer."

He also wrote:

"yeah i blocked you @elonmusk because you bought this website and force everyone to see your dumbass tweets 7k times a day. why do you think i'm afraid of you, come on the stream if youre such a big man!"

That's it for now, but what happens to Assassin's Creed, Elon Musk, Hasan, and Grummz remains to be seen.
