He explained that English artists don’t usually generate the same level of hype in the U.S. and that his musical style might not align with the show's high-energy vibe. The news has left fans disappointed, hoping the 34-year-old singer eventually changes his mind.

“I’ve had this conversation before, I don’t think English artists are— there are some that have the pizazz… but me going up there and being like, ‘Here’s the The A Team, and here’s Perfect.’ […] I can’t picture myself doing it… I would definitely go on and do it with someone, just to do the Super Bowl, but I don’t think my set lends itself to that..
