Diego Luna took "method acting" to new extremes when he stuffed his Andor blaster into his carry-on like just another souvenir. On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night, the Star Wars actor shared with audiences the story of being held by authorities at Heathrow Airport recently after security discovered the highly realistic-looking prop blaster from the show concealed in his luggage.

The prop, a wrap party gift from season two and final of the Disney+ series, evidently didn't yell "souvenir" to airport staff. Diego Luna might have received a better ride in Star Tours instead of trying to hitch a commercial flight with intergalactic firepower.

Although people enjoy how in-depth he goes into character, the TSA probably weren't expecting a rogue Rebel spy in Terminal 3.

The moral of the story: Cassian Andor can infiltrate an Imperial installation, but Diego Luna can't sneak past Heathrow with a prop gun. As if smuggling a space blaster past Heathrow wasn't disorganized enough, Diego Luna did it while carrying a hangover from a wrap party with a strength powerful enough to register as a Sith attack.

Yeah, the Andor star was still feeling the previous night's party when airport security made his carry-on an installment of CSI: Star Wars Edition. Imagine trying to explain to very serious TSA agents that the blaster isn't real, you're just very tired, slightly spinning, and emotionally attached to a fictional rebellion.

Diego Luna basically lived out a deleted scene where Cassian wakes up after celebrating the fall of the Empire, only to get detained by real-world customs. Hangover level: "Sir, please step aside and open the bag." Diego Luna said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

"The guys unwrapped the [blaster] and they were like, ‘Whoa, what is that!?’ And I was trying to grab it to say, ‘No, it’s just a prop!’ And everyone [went], ‘No, no, no! Don’t touch it!" "He’s like, ‘Whoa, wait a second!’ It was a mess, and I was hungover from the party, so I did look kind of broken, let’s put it that way."

As soon as the news went out, someone took to their X account and commented:

"That’s hilarious honestly."

X (formerly Twitter) enthusiasts were in fits at the chaos, nicknaming Diego Luna's airport blaster mishap inadvertently hilarious. The Star Wars actor who plays Cassian Andor brought social media to tears after revealing how he tried to stride through Heathrow with his Andor blaster, hungover, as though it was another pair of socks.

The mix of party-night confusion, Rebel equipment, and airport police made for the perfect recipe for laughter. With the words "Diego Luna," "Andor," and "blaster," this in-the-line blooper gained recognition from fans for his dedication to the character, and speculation as to whether TSA has a "No Galactic Weapons" policy in effect yet.

Things only got crazier from there when one of the airport security officers thought Diego Luna was from Narcos: Mexico. Not the type of recognition you're looking for when you've got a phony blaster in your luggage and a hangover in your heart.

Rather than being recognized as Cassian Andor, Rebel warrior and blaster-wielding space rescuer from Andor and Rogue One, Diego Luna was clocked as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, the made-up kingpin who flat-out would've attempted to smuggle something illicit through customs.

The confusion made the entire scene go from sci-fi gaffe to true crime mashup, and by then, the poor guy likely just wanted to Force-vanish himself out of there. Diego Luna said:

"They asked me to go out, sign a letter, I had to show them in my phone pictures of the character, myself, grabbing the blaster. There's even toys, you know? They got it at the end."

Before the internet could even say, "Blaster? What blaster?" the fans had already gone into hyperspace with their responses.

From Diego Luna's hungover moment, Heathrow's unexpected cameo, to a security guard mistaken for believing he was a cartel boss instead of a Rebel operative, the whole saga had all the makings of a crazy Star Wars spin-off, and X fans were ready with memes, jokes, and full-blown conspiracy theories in record time than the Millennium Falcon on a good day.

Netizens react as Diego Luna admits he traveled with his ‘Andor’ blaster in hand luggage

Of course, the internet didn't hesitate to make Diego Luna's airport escapade meme material. There were comments so ridiculous that even Cassian Andor would have smiled during the rebellion. From blaster puns to Narcos-meets-Star Wars mashups, the jokes basically wrote themselves:

"Mans was straight vibin' at the wrap party, no cap," a user @CardCabz hilariously commented.
"Lol but nothing beats John Krasinski's airport story though," another user @iDragonHeartz hilariously commented.
"Funny and yet, kinda scary. Could have end up turning the first episode of season 1 canon," a netizen @Lexfett sarcastically expressed.

Between witty remarks and Narcos jokes, the jokes were shooting faster than a TIE fighter. And then there were also the people who just commented to comment, because who doesn't want to throw in their two cents when there's a laughable situation to be witnessed?

"this such a cassian thing to do im crying," a user @yiboego hilariously commented.
"Of all the blaster designs in Star Wars this is definitely the one most likely to get someone in real trouble lol," another user @captainirony16 hilariously commented.
"Haha! That's a classic travel story! Glad it was just a prop!," a netizen @Thecityismine_x sarcastically commented.

The peanut gallery came in full force and couldn't resist chiming in with their own jokes, just to chime in. Because, let's be real, the internet thrives on chaos and a good punchline. Half the responses didn't make sense, and the other half made too much, but somehow, both were just as fun.

It's the type of comedy where logic is secondary and vibes are behind the wheel:
"That would be a fun day as TSA," a user @AlienOBroadcast hilariously commented.
"Imagine if that happened to Harrison Ford...," another user @StevenJosephR, hilariously commented.

Other users chimed in on the thread and said,

"That is WILD," another netizen @CryptoStonerfam sarcastically commented.
"The real Andor," a netizen @BansheeCrooked sarcastically wrote.

Diego Luna says adieu to the series, Andor!

Diego Luna came down the red carpet on April 14 for the Andor season two premiere like a man going out for a celebration and a sendoff party all at once. Dressed to the nines and emotionally bracing himself for goodbyes, he reminded viewers that this is it: Cassian Andor's last ride.

The show is ending, the timeline is catching up with Rogue One, and Diego's officially signing out of the Rebellion. Essentially, it's the Star Wars equivalent of "Last day of school, let's make it count." He said to Deadline:

"I said goodbye to this character when we wrapped. I had a beautiful opportunity to talk to the crew, to talk to the cast. [Creator] Tony Gilroy gave these beautiful words, we had a drink, we hugged, we cried. I'm going to miss this family.

He continued saying:

"Will stay there forever, but it's the dynamic, it's my everyday life, that I have to say goodbye to. It's tough. I went through, really, a lovely and challenging journey with these people, and it transformed me somehow."

The first three episodes of Andor season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on April 22.

To conclude, let this serve as a reminder to all potential rebels: if you're walking out of a wrap party drunk with a blaster in your carry-on, perhaps double-check whether it's galaxy-compliant for TSA. Diego Luna is finished playing Cassian Andor, but due to this airport mishap, he's unintentionally added a final scene to the saga, Star Wars: Security Check Chronicles.
