Complex released their list of the 10 Most Influential Streamers in Hip-Hop, and the internet had a few THOUGHTS. The list was intended to showcase the biggest players in the game, but social media commentators quickly made it a comedy sketch.
Number one on the list is Kai Cenat, which is as controversial as stating the obvious. In the second position comes Plaqueboymax, another top player who's making waves that can't be denied. Then comes DJ Akademiks at position three.
So good so far. But then... number eight surfaced.
All was well until folks scrolled to number eight and saw the name N3on just sitting there. The unified response of the internet can best be summed up in one word 'Huh?'
Fans quickly began shooting off jokes, not only asking why he was on the list, but how he even ended up in hip-hop in the first place.
The only reasonable explanation so far is that Complex must have thrown darts at a board to determine the rankings.
Social media reacts to Complex ranking N3on at number 8
A user reacted with a hilarious meme depicting how N3on fits in the list:
A user (@dietwock) mentioned:
"neon over rage and dontai is just plain disrespectful lmao."
They must have drawn these rankings from a hat.
A user (@yipfella) mentioned:
"Wait, Neon over ImDontai? This list is wild, I’m shook! 😱"
This ranking is either an incredibly sophisticated prank—Complex, blink twice if you need assistance.
A user (@KmaFr_) added:
"neon over dontai lol."
The "lol" at the end carries so much pain.
A user (@8BallBangers) served a roast with a simple yet hilarious line:
"Bro said Neon."
This one sentence just disrespected the whole ranking.
A user (@0xRin__) put it as straightforwardly as possible:
"Neon should NOT be on that list bro 😭🙏"
Someone let me know which timeline we are in.
A user, probably questioning everything at this point, dropped a meme:
If the internet collectively had to express this, this face would be it.
ImDontai's reaction to N3on ranking higher than him on the Complex list
Twitch streamer ImDontai was one of the people who were surprised by the rankings—primarily because he found himself below N3on. Though he enjoyed being listed, the ranking had him stumped.
"I see that I am on the list, I'm like, 'Oh sh*t, I appreciate that, shout out to them.' That's fire, I do appreciate them for even including me in the list, you know? They didn't have to. But then I see who I am below. Shout out to Josh [YourRAGE], I am going to go back in order."
But then came the moment of realization.
"But I see, shout out to N3on, bro! Nothing against N3on, but when we talk about hip-hop, my head didn't automatically click to like, 'Oh sh*t, N3on definitely for sure got to be on this list.' So, when I see that, I am like, 'Damn, N3on 8. I'm 10?' I don't understand it!"
Dontai made it clear this wasn’t about ego.
"I definitely appreciate Complex, man, it's not an ego thing. It's just you got to know, you got to know your worth, bro. I know my impact and things, I know that when it comes to music especially, people really look to see what I got to say, what my reactions are."
