The Super Bowl has always been the event of the year in the United States, and some of its popularity is due to the Halftime Show. There have been some great performances in the past by the great Michael Jackson, Prince, Justin Timberlake & Janet Jackson, Katy Perry, and many more.
The performances were about entertainment and boosting the spirit of the game. They gave fans a little break from worrying about the game, and it helped. Watching Michael Jackson tell everyone that Billie Jean was not his lover did divert Buffalo Bills fans from the extreme score differences with the Dallas Cowboys.
But, just like everything else, the Halftime Show has also become a game of numbers.
This year, Roc Nation decided to flex its numbers and claimed that the Halftime Show had a viewership of 133.5 million. That is more than the Super Bowl 2025 viewership (127.7 million) and the people who watched TV that night.
Maybe fans couldn't get enough of Kendrick and watched him groove simultaneously with different devices. Or maybe they also made their pets, appliances, and aliens watch it.
The numbers were also higher than last year's headliner, Usher, who racked up a viewership of 123.4 million. Lamar also surpassed the King of Pop's 1993 inaugural halftime show performance, which amassed a viewership of 133.4 million.
Fan Reaction to Roc Nation Claiming a 133.5 million viewership at this year's Halftime Show
When the news broke out, people instantly caught a glitch in the matrix where one article showed the Super Bowl numbers and the other showed halftime show numbers. And Roc Nation claimed both to be their numbers. This glitch was enough to start a meme fest.
Here are some of the epic reactions.

Get as much dough as you can.
Were the numbers real or not? Nobody cared. All fans cared about was how Kendrick Lamar delivered an electrifying performance and how the event of the year was made 100 times grander because of that. Serena's crip walk also stole the show.
