Cody Rhodes and John Cena engaged in a promo battle that was the talk of the town. Cody, Undisputed WWE Champion, went hard with a passionate address towards the conclusion of the main event. His monologue was a combination of a mic drop and an ouch moment.

In case you somehow missed it, the internet's been abuzz — John Cena officially turned heel. Yes, the childhood hero and fan-favorite "good guy" stunned everybody by joining forces with none other than The Rock, Dwayne Johnson.

Now, if you're wondering why Cody Rhodes has anything to do with all this — here's what went down. After Cody won the Elimination Chamber match, John Cena attacked him.

On a recent SmackDown, John Cena delivered a highly emotional promo discussing how he's spent years trying to be accepted. Cody Rhodes interrupted him during this emotional moment right before WrestleMania 41.

"This is a different WWE, John! And when this was your WWE, I worshipped you, they [fans] worshipped you."
"You called me underwhelming. Guess what, you are overrated."
"And by god, John Cena. It is 2025, and you still can’t wrestle!"

Rhodes also employed the old knockabout Cena, possessing only "Five Moves of Doom" to diss him. He vowed to demonstrate that Cena is "the most overrated wrestler of all time."

People on social media are laughing heartily. Users can't believe Cena is speechless. Although there is genuine excitement leading up to WrestleMania 41, individuals are unable to resist posting burn remarks.

Social media reacts as Cody Rhodes roasts John Cena

Users are jokingly claiming that Rhodes not only cooked him, but overcooked him. The level of speechlessness was loud.

A user @thefilmstans humorously noted:

"Cena’s feet couldnt move. Bud was overcooked."

Another user @Shak_Fu added:

"I need a Harvard study on how fast Cody turned that crowd around."

One more user @Codename_LEON said:

"I’ve never seen John Cena get cooked like that."

Some users were astounded by Rhodes' ability to turn the jeering audience onto himself. The reference to "Sting at Starrcade 97" even had some people laugh out loud.

Just so you know, at WCW Starrcade in 1997, Sting faced Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

Before the match, Sting transformed his appearance and became more serious. He dressed in all black, painted his face white, and appeared like a ghost.

At Starrcade 1997, he appeared the palest and most subdued he ever was.

This indicated that he had completely transformed from the playful "Surfer Sting" to a dark and serious one.

A user went on to highlight:

"Bro got boos, roasted Cena and turned the crowd back on his side in less than a minute, absolutely insane 😭"

A user @brickcitysaint went on to say:

"Cody Rhodes is the first wrestler in a long as* time that John Cena couldn't bury on the mic."

Meanwhile, a user @MrKlozoff highlighted:

"Paler than Sting at Starrcade 97 was insane."

Meanwhile, some users dropped hilarious GIFs and pictorial reactions to sum up the hype.

A user thinks:

"John Cena has become such a mean girl 🤣"

A user stated:

"Our champ doesn’t fold under pressure."

A user @TinCup2020 replied with a burn comment:

"I wonder what brand of cigar Cena is, cause he got smoked!"

Cena is pursuing his 17th world championship, breaking Ric Flair's record. This bout is being referred to as his final WrestleMania before retirement.

Cody Rhodes is attempting to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship that he obtained by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
