Ariana Grande might have skipped Coachella 2025, but her Glinda energy certainly did not – on a stick. During one of the most bizarre fan moments of the weekend, somebody in the crowd had brought a Glinda doll (yep, from Wicked) and held her aloft on a stick as if she were headlining the main stage. The little diva danced in the desert wind, spinning like she had her own wind machine and a Grammy to take home.
Fans couldn't resist teasing that Glinda made her Coachella appearance, finally! As the actual Ariana Grande opted out of the festival, her Wicked magic floated right into the limelight. Is it performance art? Is it pandemonium? It's Coachella. And apparently, even dolls can catch the vibe.
Armed with a Glinda doll and what looked like straight-up wrist magic, a person waved the doll in circles as if a royal puppeteer, making it look like Glinda was graciously floating over the crowd. Festival-goers were mesmerized as Glinda floated over the sea of people, shimmering in the sun like a glittering desert queen.
Honestly, it was pure Coachella atmosphere, half rave, half theater, all anarchy. Ariana Grande was absent, but her magical doll alter ego fully understood the task at hand. As soon as the video went out, someone commented on their X account:
"This is the closest Ariana will get to be at Coachella"
Social media wasted no time mocking the moment an instant Glinda doll floated over the Coachella 2025 crowd on a stick, and the internet did what it does best — turning a doll-on-a-stick moment meme into gold immediately.
Even if Ariana Grande herself didn't make it to the festival this year, her fans did what was needed to bring the Wicked spirit out, one plastic Glinda at a time.
The doll danced, twirled, and almost stole the spotlight from a couple of DJs, all thanks to one dedicated fan with a stick and a little too much wrist action. The tweet went viral immediately, once again proving that even when Ariana's not at Coachella, she's still the moment.
The moment the Glinda doll-on-a-stick moment went viral, fans collectively lost their minds. It didn't take long for social media to do what it does best: make a five-second clip a comedy event of the year. From over-the-top comparisons to full-on Broadway reenactments in the comments, the responses were pure gold.
Ariana Grande may not have been physically present at Coachella 2025, but the memes and jokes, accompanied by absolute chaos, made it feel like she was headlining via doll proxy. Buckle up — here's how the internet hilariously reacted to Glinda's unexpected and extremely airborne debut.
Netizens react as a Glinda doll from Wicked makes an appearance at Coachella
It wasn't long before many stepped onto social media to make fun of the surprise Glinda doll moment, making it instant comedy gold. The vision of a small witch spinning on a rod amid a festival mob was all it took to initiate a tide of jokes. Memes flooded in, edits were posted, and timelines filled up with laughter.
It soon became one of those timeless Coachella moments when the fans upstage the performers with doll choreography, no less.
"The Coachella fans have been very creative this year and for that I am grateful," a user @MissSassbox hilariously commented.
"Glinda makes magical Coachella appearance tonight," another user @Motivation0999 hilariously commented.
"holding the space for defying gravity," a netizen @blurrywideshaky sarcastically expressed.
Others came into the mayhem for the sheer thrill of it, throwing in loose jokes just to be included. Even if they didn't know what was going on, the image of a doll dancing in mid-air was enough to bring out A-list nonsense. It was less about context and more about keeping the joke train rolling.
Coachella content doesn't wait for anyone, particularly when a stick-wielding Glinda is on the scene.
"I’m CRYINGGGG," a user @IamNoah4 hilariously commented.
"when you’re off to see the wizard," another user @nestorsoriano11 wrote.
"why they got her like a sacrificial offer," a netizen @dojiana_tesfaye sarcastically commented.
The peanut gallery arrived punctually, leaving jokes with no context and complete anarchy. Some were completely unrelated to anything, plain old comedy for the sake of it. It wasn't about creating value, it was about generating noise and snatching laughs.
When the web catches a moment going viral, the humor begins quicker than facts.
"defying gravity (festival edition)," a user @tophmyc hilariously commented.
"Glinda headlining Coachella 2026 oh wbk," another user @downl1ke hilariously commented.

Meanwhile, Glinda's human counterpart is also entering a new era
Ariana Grande is doing it again, and no, it's not a surprise album release. It's her hair. In behind-the-scenes photos from her short-film, Brighter Days Ahead, she debuted a fresh color that's a little less Glinda-the-good-witch and a little more fall-in-a-cup.
The platinum blonde look of the Wicked press tour is gone, and instead? A rich auburn brown that appears to have been hand-selected by a Pinterest board, and a latte.

Ariana Grande's iconic high ponytail remains living its best life, albeit now with a relaxed side part and effortless waves. Fans had the first glimpse of the change at the 2025 Golden Globes, and colorist Rachel Bodt later confirmed that they opted for a bold yet natural look.
It's a long way from her Victorious redhead days. Adorable, sure, but clearly the breakage wasn't giving.
Wicked Part 2 is coming!
Wicked Part 2 is finally on the way, and the new poster already fell to remind the world that Glinda and Elphaba are hardly done. The movie, titled Wicked: For Good, will come out on November 21, 2025, a day shorter than Wicked Part 1's anniversary because, apparently, even movie releases have a theatrical entrance.
We'll be picking up where we left off, toward the end of the second act where the drama, the high notes, and perhaps even the flying monkeys return. Cynthia Erivo will once again defy gravity as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande floats back in as Glinda, sparkles, curls, and all.
Director Jon M. Chu said that the tale had to be split in two lest it "do real damage," which is understandable, as condensing all that Broadway-level chaos into a single film would have been more than a flying house was. Regarding why the movie is divided into two parts, he said:
"Here's what happened, as we prepared this production over the last year, it became increasingly clear that it would be impossible to wrestle the story of 'Wicked' into a single film without doing some real damage to it. As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises to the source material that has entertained us all for so many years."
He continued:
"So we decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one 'Wicked' movie but TWO!!!! With more space, we can tell the story of 'Wicked' as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters."
Get ready because Wicked Part 2 is coming soon, and Glinda's back with a whole new degree of magic. Following her Coachella cameo (in doll form, no less), she's going to bring the sparkle and sass to the big screen, high ponytail and all.
And there you have it: Ariana might not have attended Coachella in person, but her doll certainly did, demonstrating once and for all that even plastic witches can take center stage. If Glinda's appearance at Coachella is anything to go by, we'll be expecting nothing but magic from Wicked Part 2 and a little bit of craziness, too.
Who knows, perhaps next time the doll herself will appear on a broomstick! After all, if a doll can do it, then the real one can surely do it too, and she might even bring the glitter.
