If you were told that your poop holds the power to make you smart, what would you do with that information? Pooping before mental tests unlocks the untapped potential of your brain and makes you Eddie Morra from Limitless. At least that's what the study says.
The results of a study done on triathletes found that they did well on their mental tests when they pooped before the exam. So how did poop accomplish what so many supplements couldn't? The study concluded that pooping before mental tests energized their rapid decision-making skills in sports. Fascinating.
How does pooping before mental tests increase your brain power?
The study performed the Stroop test on 13 volunteers three times a week. The first one was done before pooping, the second one was done an hour after pooping and the last one was done after the participants consumed a magnesium oxide laxative.
Before moving forward, here is a little more information on the Stroop test. In the test, the participants were given names of the colors, but written in a different ink, and were asked to name the color as quickly as possible. That sounds confusing imagine seeing it.

The results blew everyone's mind. They were published in the Sports Medicine and Health Science journal and the researchers said:
Stroop performance was improved in all (100%, 13/13) of the participants after magnesium-induced defecation and most (69%, 9/13) of the participants after non-magnesium-induced defecation.
So, how are the brain and the butt connected? Researchers found that dropping the motherload improved cycling performance and pumped more blood to the prefrontal cortex. For those who don't know, that's the part of the brain that helps you decide whether you want Chinese or Pizza for dinner. It's the decision-making part of the brain.
The study found that pooping before mental tests energizes the body to increase cognitive abilities and gives strength for exercise. The results showed people who performed better on the Stroop test had increased levels of oxygens in their gut after pooping. Since oxygen is the essence of life, more oxygen in an organ means better performance.
The conclusion was that the nerves around the rectum played an important part in enhancing cognitive functions because signals were sent to the brain based on the gut's condition. Maybe that's where 'gut feeling' originates from. Maybe that's also why, the way to someone's heart is through their stomach. If you feed them well, their gut will signal their brain to approve you.
How can magnesium help in this process? What magnesium oxide does is it hydrates the intestines to soften the poop. Funnily, this also helps rid a person of constipation.
So, in conclusion, pooping before mental tests will get you better grades. Poop at least an hour or 90 minutes before any big tests and watch your brain go to work.
Furthermore, develop healthy eating habits by including fruits, veggies, and whole grains in your diet. Exercise and remember to drink plenty of water. Your bladder might be weak, but your brain will be as strong as Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The findings created a stir among people and there were some funny reactions, most of them being poop jokes. Here are some hilarious ones.
