Christopher Walken is alleging that he’s not just old-school—he’s prehistoric-school. The 81-year-old just shook the internet by revealing that he has successfully dodged the digital revolution. The man is practically a walking (pun intended) museum exhibit on how life used to be.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Walken dropped the kind of revelation that could probably make Gen Z scream in horror.

“I don't have technology. I only have a satellite dish on my house. So I've seen Severance on DVDs that they're good enough to send me,” he said.

Naturally, social media lost it over this revelation because nothing makes the internet funnier than someone who actively refuses to participate in it.

An X (formerly Twitter) user hilariously referencing his famous Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch, More Cowbell, stated:

"You can only reach him by Cowbell."

A user (@ChicChronically) humorously posted a Schitt's Creek GIF that read, "Love that for him."

A user (@GriffinRains89) employed AI to generate Walken's images using phones, noting:

"Look how much happier he'd be! 😅😆"
A user asked: "So his manager sends him messages via carrier pigeon?"
"How Christopher Walken gets his message across the line", a user (@dme_363) shared.
A user mentioned: "The guy is living in "mystery cult" mode, while we here can't live without Wi-Fi."

Christopher Walken isn’t running to use technology

And if you thought he was joking, well, he isn’t. He told the publication:

“I don’t have a cell phone. I’ve never emailed or, what do you call it, Twittered.”

Not only is he rejecting technology, but he’s also inventing his own vocabulary for it. Twittered.

Walken’s tech-free lifestyle aligns with Severance co-executive producer Ben Stiller’s “no phones” rule on set. Stiller, 59, explained on Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out podcast that he bans phones to keep actors focused.

“Crew have to use phones sometimes to communicate, but, for me, I like no phones anywhere near the eyeshot of the actors.”

Meanwhile, Walken’s rejection of technology isn’t new. Earlier in January, on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, he admitted he hasn’t even watched all of Severance because modern viewing equipment isn’t his thing.

His distaste for digital distractions even extends to live theater. Back in the day, he walked away from stage acting because people couldn’t stop staring at their screens.

Imagine pouring your soul into a performance while some guy in the front row is watching Insta reels.
