We all know that AI can pretty much do anything, so it comes as no surprise when Anthropic's Claude AI played Pokémon Red, while it was being streamed on Twitch. (via X/@Dexerto)

Pokémon Fans' Hilarious Reactions to AI Playing Pokémon

Pokémon fans all over the world were shocked when an AI model played their favorite Pokémond game, and some fans were curious as to who the AI picked as its starter! (via X/@kingscoriox)

Pokémon fans also trolled Claude AI, saying that the next thing it will do is beat the Elite 4 easily and the rest will be history. (via X/iam__Gidi)

X users also poked fun at Claude AI, saying that yes, it can beat all the Elite trainers on Pokémon, but can it beat One Punch Man when Claude AI finally plays a game that has One Punch Man on the roster?

"But can AI beat ONE PUNCH MAN THO?" - an X user asked (via X/@GODGOTHAMGOTGAM)

Other X users also praised Claude AI because it was trained to play Pokémon, it can beat the game easily without breaking a sweat!

"AI said this game is easy." - another X user replied (via X/@emcverse)

Pokémon fans also roasted Claude AI and the advanced AI technology, commenting that by year 2045, the Pokémon game already ended even if you're just still beginning to play the game.

"Year 2005 - play Pokémon on an emulator at 20x speed. Year 2025 - have agent play Pokémon and auto level ultimate party to 100. Year 2045 - tell the game the end state you want and you never even have to start the game in the first place!" - a Pokémon fan hilariously speculated (via X/@FatherPhi)

Some Pokémon fans hilariously pointed out that Claude AI is out here playing our childhood games without experiencing any hardships as the game progresses!

"First they came for chess, now they’re beating Pokémon. AI is really out here speedrunning our childhood." - another Pokémon fan added (via X/@StasStriker)

Because of Claude AI playing Pokémon games, other X users suggested that they will just use AI to play and stream their games, and money will roll into the streamer's account. Easy peasy cash!

"Hell yeah, we can just set up an ai to play games for me on stream and watch the money roll in!" - another X user shared (via X/@Bemesda)

And finally, some X users are on board Claude AI playing video games because Claude AI can beat the big and final bosses without you thinking and strategizing on how to beat them!

"I want them to complete games for me, I want all the achievements!" - another X user commented (via X/@paavali_henki)

What did Claude AI do during its Pokémon Red Stream?

The previous Claude AI unsuccessfully gained gym badges during their stream before, but the Claude AI 3.7 Sonnet—the new Claude AI update—managed to snag 3 gym badges!

During Claude AI's stream of Pokémon Red, it has its challenges too, especially when it was navigating a wall and the AI couldn't seem to realize that it cannot walk through a brick wall. Another issue during the stream is the Claude AI's walk is frustrating due to Claude AI's slow "thought process". These issues made the watchers of the stream realize that no matter how advanced an AI technology is, humans are still better in hurdling challenges of a video game!

All in all, the Claude Plays Pokémon stream is fun to watch but it's also worth noting that nothing beats the feeling of beating video games levels with yourself or with your teammates because: 1) You're humans and 2) No matter how advanced AIs are, it can't still beat the big bosses of the game!
