James Gunn’s Superman has been the talk of the town among moviegoers ever since the first teaser trailer dropped in December 2024. Starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, the film is set for a worldwide release on July 11 this year. While fans are excited to see their favorite superhero back on screen, they’re just as hyped about Krypto the Superdog making his big-screen debut. And now, it looks like they’ve just gotten some fresh details straight from Superman himself!
In a recent interview with Fandango, David Corenswet revealed that Krypto’s appearance in Superman is “sort of a foster situation.” He said,
“Superman is taking care of this dog… but Krypto is like the worst dog in the world with superpowers, so he’s always destroying the Fortress and hunting wildlife.” The reveal has left fans even more curious, eager to see what Krypto will be like on screen.
Hilarious Fan Reactions
Fans couldn’t help but crack up at Corenswet’s reveal and took to the internet to share their hilarious reactions.
"But he’s cute tho~" a fan said.
Now, who cares about Krypto being a badly mannered dog with superpowers when he’s so cute, as this user points out, unless, of course, they’re referring to David Corenswet as the cute one instead.
"You can’t throw a steak so far that he just gets lost?" asked another.
This user has the perfect way to get rid of Krypto in case he’s becoming a pain in the neck for Superman - just throw a steak so far that he fetches it and doesn’t come back for a while. Maybe to another planet!
What real men do (via @GothamChief / X)
According to this user, a real man never speaks ill of his pets, and it looks like even the Man of Steel doesn't measure up to that definition after David Corenswet called Krypto the worst dog in the world.
"A dog with superpowers would be the worst 😂😂 you just come home and have a hole in your house," a fan pointed.
A superpowered dog might sound cool in theory, but it sure must have its downsides. Imagine coming back home and finding a hole in your house or worse, having no house at all!
"Krypto out here making Superman look like a stressed single dad," commented another.
The way Corenswet described Krypto as being difficult to handle and take care of it sure makes the superhero sound like a stressed-out single dad, doesn't it?
David Corenswet's revelation of Krypto's character in Superman has sure left fans even more hyped for the movie, as they find themselves counting the days until the release with even more impatience. Superman releases worldwide on July 11th, 2025.
