Logan Paul just did the ultimate Logan Paul thing ever by challenging Lionel Messi to a boxing match. The YouTube-turned-wrestler wants to settle it with one of football's greatest of all time a lawsuit over sports drinks.
Messi's drink company, Mas+, sued Prime Hydration for infringing on its trademark rights. Logan Paul then retaliated with a lawsuit, saying Mas+ stole Prime's branding first.
If this fight takes place, it could be the most unreal crossover event ever since KSI and Paul began selling hydration drinks.
A user noted:
"Bro doesn’t even know who Logan Paul is"
One user went on to reacted with a hilarious meme:
A user mentioned:
"Messi: How about we settle this on a football pitch 😭"
Another user thinks:
"I bet that Messi drink tastes 10x better than Prime too 💀"
Another user joked:
"As a Ronaldo fan I'll be cheering for Messi in this battle"
Meanwhile, a user quipped:
"The whole of Argentina after hearing this news:"
A user roasted Paul stating:
"Bro is incapable of calling out dudes his size. Gotta be at least half a foot shorter and 40 lbs lighter."
A user hilariously mentioned:
"Somebody take his phone please."
Logan Paul challenges Messi to a boxing fight
Logan Paul posted a video on social media discussing the scandal and said he would drop the suit if Messi fights him in the ring. Paul brushed off claims of "harassment" and accused Messi's company of being a copycat of Prime's packaging.
“Brother, you copied us. Everyone saw it. They saw what you did. Everyone notices it and then we got sued. Hold on, wait, what? This ain't justice. So we countersued, obviously. If you can't beat the best, you gotta be the best. But that's illegal. That's trademark infringement. We're holding him accountable, and it's harassment?"
Logan Paul challenged Messi to a boxing fight afterward:
"Hey, hey, all jokes aside, I will consider [dropping lawsuit] if Logan Paul vs Messi 2025. I'll see you in the ring".
The back story of Logan Paul vs Messi
Paul previously discussed Messi's company filing a lawsuit with Prime Hydration on KSI's IMPAULSIVE podcast, where he accused Messi of asking for a "rush judgement" of the case.
As Paul described, Messi's company asked the courts to decide quickly on whether they were violating Prime's trademark. Paul described there had been efforts to settle out of court, but Messi's team decided to take it to court instead.
Along with Messi, Logan Paul has also challenged Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, discussing the prospect of fighting Davis and emphasizing his size disparity with the WBA lightweight champion.
While discussing with rapper and producer T.I., Paul described:
"Size matters, I don’t give a fck how good you are. I learned it when I fought Floyd, like size matters, I would f*****g kill Gervonta".
Paul competes at a weight of 205 to 235 pounds, while Davis competes at 135 pounds.
Prime Hydration vs Mas+
The hydration war started in October 2024 when Mark Anthony International, the distributor of Lionel Messi's Mas+ beverage, decided they had enough of Prime Hydration's threats in court and took them to court. They planned to show that Mas+ wasn't copying Prime's bottle form or slogan and continue selling their beverage without Logan Paul and KSI breathing down their necks.
To show their point, Mark Anthony International carried out a survey asking customers do they knew which beverage they were buying. Turns out, people weren't confused at all. But Prime Hydration wasn't having it and fired back with a countersuit on November 20, 2024. They asserted that Mas+ was copying their branding straight up and causing consumer confusion.
According to Prime, its bottle design is distinct—it's got fluorescent labels, color-coordinated caps, a huge vertical logo, flavor names at the top, and an electrolyte droplet icon. To make its case, it even unearthed Instagram posts where individuals accidentally tagged Prime in Mas+ photos.
Prime went all in, then, accusing Mark Anthony International of trademark infringement, trade dress dilution, and unfair competition. They even criticized Mas+'s tagline—"Positive Hydration" and "Replenish, Refresh, Revive"—as sounding too similar to Prime's own "Prime Hydration" and "Refresh, Replenish, and Refuel."
As per the reports, Prime is seeking Messi's team to change the bottle design, ditch the disputed tagline, and pay up for the profits earned with the infringing look.
