McDonald's has officially confirmed that there will be no extra charges added to their eggs, despite the ongoing egg shortage in the nation.
Michael Gonda, who serves as the North American chief impact officer of the chain, said in a statement on LinkedIn on Tuesday:
"Unlike others making news recently, you definitely WON'T see McDonald's USA issuing surcharges on eggs, which are 100% cage-free and sourced in the U.S."
However, fans remain unconvinced, with some even pointing out that the only reason this is the case is because they charge so much for their food in the first place. Fans have since begun dissing the outlet, and while they may be a tad bit mean, they're also funny.
In that spirit, we've rounded up all of the best ones for you to laugh at.

McDonald's announces they won't be charging extra for the egg shortage, fans react hilariously:
One user may have been extra brutal, but their comment was tinged with an undeniable sense of humor:
"Because they're already charging enough. The last time I took the family to McDonald's on a road trip, I was shocked how expensive it was. They're charging gourmet restaurant prices and not providing gourmet food."
Scores chimed in to echo the sentiments, though we're focusing on the hilarious ones tonight:
"There’s an egg shortage?? Where did all the chickens go," one user hilariously asked.
"Don’t care bring back the snackwraps," someone else humorously demanded.
"Spent $37 for 2 people the other day. Not like they can't afford it," another jokingly echoed.
"at least some stability in my life," yet another on X chimed in.
The sentiments reverberated through the comments section, as seemingly one user after the other channeled the inner comedian in themselves to bring out the best they have to offer:
"They're already charging way too much for their food in the first place. This isn't them being gracious, this is them understanding if they gouge us any more, we won't buy the food," someone hilariously penned.
"McDonald’s are the real Gs," another fan joined the discourse.
"I know where I’m heading to for the morning," another X user chimed in.
"The gods of the early breakfast sandwich are being merciful upon us the peasant believers. Long life to the McMuffin!" one more quipped.
It remains to be seen how the egg shortage pans out across the nation, but in the meantime, McDonald's has inadvertently become the butt end of the joke.
