The 45th Golden Raspberry Awards, also referred to as the Razzies, have released their picks for worst films of 2024. The awards gala was held this year on February 28, 2025, and it was an evening to recall some of Tinseltown's biggest disappointments.
Pacing the nominations was Sony's aptly panned superhero movie, Madame Web, which received three Razzies, including the much-sought-after Worst Picture Award.
You know the online community wasn’t gonna let this one slide. This was the perfect chance to roll up their sleeves and go full roast mode—and they delivered. Forget the Razzies, the internet did way more damage with its brutal, hilarious, and downright savage commentary.
A user hilariously declared:
"At least it won something?"
A win is a win… right?
Another added:
"Well she got that bag anyways."
Flopped on screen, flourished on payday.
A user mentioned:
"Well done! They deserved this 😂😂😂"
Standing ovation… in reverse.
Poking fun, a user commented:
"Many congratulations to them on winning the award."
Speech! Speech! Oh wait…
One user said:
"Madame Web winning Worst Picture at the 2025 Razzie Awards... Not even the web of destiny could save this one!"
Some fates cannot be escaped.
A user quipped:
"Well-deserved recognition of cinematic disappointment achieved."
The Oscars might not have noticed, but the Razzies sure did.
Madame Web weaves a web of disappointment
The evening's biggest "winner" was Madame Web. The film was Sony's effort to open up the Spider-Man universe but, ultimately, broadened audience confusion.
Featuring Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott, this superhero movie left with three Razzies, including the ever-so-prestigious Worst Picture award.
Critics and viewers agreed on something once: the movie's storyline was as knotty as its protagonist's psychic fantasies.
Johnson, who starred as the lead actress, also won Worst Actress, collecting another prize (of sorts) to the collection.
And if that weren't enough, the film went on to scoop up Worst Screenplay.
Joker: Folie à Deux laughs… but not in a good way
Joker: Folie à Deux, featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, took home two Razzies: Worst Sequel and Worst On-Screen Couple.
Even though the original Joker movie was a box office and critical hit, its musical follow-up was more like a massive joke on fans.
Their performance was two very talented people passionately trying to out-weird each other for two hours.
Unfrosted leaves Jerry Seinfeld in the cold
A film based on the history of Pop-Tarts and a film having Jerry Seinfeld as the male lead in a Pop-Tarts origin story film bagged two Razzies.
Seinfeld won Worst Actor for Unfrosted, and trust us, the audience was not devouring this one.
Amy Schumer won Worst Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie too.
Francis Ford Coppola
And now, the evening's plot twist: Francis Ford Coppola, director of The Godfather, won Worst Director for his ambitious but catastrophic film Megalopolis.
But unlike some winners who shun recognition of their Razzie "accomplishments," Coppola actually had a good sense of humor about the whole affair.
While Megalopolis set sky-high expectations, it wound up being one of the most hyped-up flops in recent history.
