Apple has just rolled out a new set of emojis in the iOS 18.4 beta 2, and you know that people are going to weigh in. They're based on the Unicode 16.0 standard, introduced by Google back in September 2024.
The crop includes seven new quirky, sensible, and outright crazy additions.
Among all the new additions on iOS 18.4, Face with bags under eyes is already a scene-stealer. It nailed the everyday struggle for most people. Whether it's sleep deprivation, burnout, or just being alive in 2025, this emoji understands.
The internet didn't hesitate to make it a meme, and it's become the go-to response for literally anything.
First of all, a user declared:
"Me all day"
Another user said:
"Me heading into work every day."
"I bet this is the most used emoji of the year. 3 months into 2025 and everyone is already tired..."
A user said:
"Me checking Twitter right after waking up-"
Meanwhile, a user highlighted:
"We really adding a radish?"
One user mentioned:
"Best emoji they’ve added in years lol."
Yet another user stated:
"This one looks like me first thing in the morning 😅😂"
Apple's new emoji drop: Here's what's dominating your keyboard
The iOS 18.4 beta 2 just added seven new emojis (or eight, depending on your count of the Flag of Sark). While each has its applications, some of them are already proving to be fan favorites.
Face with bags under eyes – The official mascot of zero sleep and round-the-clock stress. This one's already dominating memes.
Fingerprint – Perhaps we did need an extra security measure—like casually leaving a fingerprint over text.
Splatter – This might refer to paint, a mess, or a crime scene, depending on your mood.
Root vegetable – Probably a radish. Who cares, but veggie enthusiasts are munching on this one. (pun intended)
Leafless tree – Seasonal depression emoji or environmental observation, you choose.
Harp – Musicians, your time has come.
Shovel – For gardening, digging holes, or figuratively "burying" things.
Flag of Sark – A niche but distinguished addition for geography enthusiasts.
But the Face with Bags Under Eyes emoji is taking over social media already because it's relatable.
When can you begin spamming these emojis?
Currently, these new emojis are only available for developers and iOS 18.4 beta testers. But Apple will release the public release sometime in April for users running on iOS 18.4 or later.
Of course, there's always a small possibility some won't get the cut. But Face with Bags Under Eyes is already popular, and there's no chance Apple's stripping that away from us.
What else is happening in iOS 18.4?
