Because of the announcement, fans poked fun at the news, commenting that during sketch breaks, the cast and the audience of Saturday Night Live: Britain would be having tea breaks in between sketches:

The format of the British version of Saturday Night Live will be the same as its US counterpart. It will be telecast every Saturday, and there will be guest hosts, an iconic cast of comedians, sketches, and guest performers!

The British remake of Saturday Night Live will premiere next year, and Lorne Michaels will head the show as an executive producer.


Now that SNL is finally going to get a British remake, we can't wait to hear the "Live from London, it's Saturday Night!" once it premieres!
