In the magical land of Disney, angels came together to breathe life into the classic tale of Snow White. And because it was Disney, they decided to go all out. With a budget that would make Richie Rich's bank vault look like a piggy bank, Disney set out to create its live-action magic again.

Everything was perfect; now they needed the perfect cast to play Snow White and the Evil Queen. Enter Rachel Zegler, whose melodious voice could bring all the animals to her, just like the real Snow White. Gal Gadot also entered the scene to play the Evil Queen and made everyone wonder if evil is the new fabulous.

But alas! All of Disney's magic could not put Snow White on the top box office charts again. The movie was released amid controversies and backlash. Disney fans were not happy with the casting and the change in storyline, and they conveyed their dismay many times since the movie was announced. But Disney had full faith in the film and, like the Titanic, went full steam ahead.

And just like the Titanic, it sank in the depths of critical reviews. Upon release, the film received a 2.5/10 IMDb rating, which has since dropped down to 1.7/10. Weird! Weird! Weird!

Fan reaction to Snow White's low IMDb rating

The film was released on March 21, and amid all the controversies, the film did manage to create a little buzz, too. There were some fans who were hoping that the film would be good; some positive reviews received by the film's lead, Rachel Zegler, promised hope. But that was all she wrote.

The movie was panned by many noted critical review agencies, and among them, IMDb gave it the lowest one. As fans came to know about the rating, they had some hilarious responses for Disney.

One user, @Firesidesportz, made sure everyone heard this loud and clear.

"This has to be an all time low for a princess movie"

Another user, @NakeemHere, did some comparisons of the low ratings,

"You know it's bad when the score is even lower than Dragon Ball Evolution"

One more user, @Clips_ETH, decided to poke fun at the ratings with this comment,

"Maybe the ratings got stuck on the rollercoaster - wheeee!"

Did user @Hamotex joke about the movie or the audience?

"All dwarves we're named Sleepy"

User @0xRin_ made everyone see how serious the numbers were,

"Out of 82K reviews??? That sh*t is cooked"

Hey! Please stop giving them any more ideas. (via @Jaysinnalife)

Despite a star-studded cast and a perfect fairy tale to present, the IMDb rating of the film was bitter than the poisonous apple. Many believed it lacked the magic and charm that Disney films usually have, especially in classics like these. Perhaps some fairytales should be left in the book.
