A$AP Rocky just hit the rap game with a brand-new song, and the internet isn't letting him enjoy his moment. Rocky headlined at the GoPuff Stage at Rolling Loud California 2025, performing from 9:30 pm to 10:45 pm on March 15. But rather than leaving with a mic-drop moment, he left leaving social media meme-ing him.
The lyrics are as follows:
"I ain't on J. Cole, I ain't on Drake, I ain't on Kendrick side / I choose homicide, they gon' see a different side."
But rather than fans coming out to defend him, X is devouring him.
X responds to A$AP Rocky's new track
A$AP Rocky may have been firing jabs, at least in his mind, but social media delivered the haymakers.
Users are roasting him, asking who even wanted his opinion, and telling him to keep it to himself.
A user @MeOrDrugs commented:
"Who asked him for his take 😭"
Others are roasting him as well, claiming that he jumped on Drake, too, and that whatever he is doing currently has been dead for some time. They're implying that he likely doesn't even know the conversation has moved past, and his opinions are simply stale now.
One user @drizzyvalentino mentioned:
"Says the dude who jumped Drake with everyone else 🤣"
Another user @kingjamesfann added:
"Does bro know the beef ended almost a year ago?"
Others feel he should have remained a model and that his arc is done. They believe it's time for him to just accept it and move on, suggesting that what he's doing or saying now isn't as important.
A user, @Shadowiscold, went on to say:
"Rocky should’ve kept modeling cause this is MID."
@MonkeyDCrypto_ mentioned:
"Bro is washed"
Others are saying that he always thought he was different, and now it's obvious that he can't even measure up to being that. They have gone so far as to say he can only hope he is half the artist that J. Cole or Drake is.
One user @SkolTrevCards pointed out:
"Wasn’t he crying that he 'wasn’t on the first one' 😂😂😂"
A user @skippymeta thinks:
"A$AP wishes he was half of J. Cole or Drake."
Why is A$AP Rocky's album Don't Be Dumb postponed?
The lyrics are rumored to be from A$AP Rocky's upcoming album, Don't Be Dumb, which has been in delay limbo since August 2024, courtesy of sample clearances and leaks.
Singles such as "Highjack," "Tailor Swif," and "Ruby Rosary" (featuring J. Cole) have already generated speculations, particularly because "Ruby Rosary" contained lyrics that some thought were directed towards Drake.
Earlier, A$AP Rocky told GQ:
"I’m in the mixing and mastering realm of it."
Now, for those who have been counting down, Rocky and Drake's cold war has been burning for months.
Last August, Drake called A$AP Rocky an "idiot" on "It's Up," which could've been a jab—or just Drake being Drake.
While that was going on, Rocky's Ruby Rosary had what some thought were subliminal messages for the "6 God," but Rocky played it cool, saying he had "bigger fish to fry."
This time around, A$AP Rocky didn't leave much to the imagination, specifically calling out J. Cole, Drake, and Kendrick.
Though he didn't necessarily diss them, the line "I choose homicide" suggests that if anything goes down, it'll be in no-holds-barred fashion.
But if shaking things up was the plan, the only thing shaking seemed to be X due to all the laughter.
