Sometimes, a meme is so iconic, that it's worth making a whole video game over it. There are several reasons for a meme to become iconic- in the first place can be either due to repeated usage, its ability to fit into any given context, its relatability, or maybe it's just a photo that was captured at exactly the right moment.

Whatever the case may be, we've rounded up some of the best games that were made based on memes, listed below in no particular order.

All of the best games based on memes in one place

1) Goat Simulator

This one may fit the title in the most apt manner, given that the whole game is a meme in and of itself. The graphics, end goal, and the game itself are almost nonsensical in nature, though one can argue that that's what makes it so fun in the first place. This game was released well over a decade ago, but it is still one for the books.

2) Untitled Goose Game:

This game was based on a stock photograph of a goose that was uploaded by an employee to their company's internal communications. The game is a puzzle stealth game where the players get to control a goose that bothers the residents of an English village. Their goal is to use the goose to shift objects and other NPCs to finish their objectives.

3) Among Us:

This game was arguably one of the most iconic things to gain momentum during the time of the pandemic, and it takes place in space. The goal is to uncover the imposter, and the game also paved the way for many a meme long after its inception and development.

4) This Is Fine: The Game

Everyone knows the image of the comical yellow dog sitting calmly as he is surrounded by nothing but inferno, delivering the notorious line: "This is fine." Hilariously enough, it's the complete opposite for the little pupper and the objective is to help him as his house goes up in flames around him.

5) Fight of Animals:

This game is so weird, it's amazing. It features several animals like cats, dogs, and crows, all of whom have to fight it out to figure out the strongest among them. Every character was based on a viral image of an animal, though it has since been rendered in a hilarious and comical format.

6) The Game of Sisyphus:

While the tale on which the name is based may be one of the oldest and most used to describe an uphill battle, the game version of it is anything but serious. In this game, players get to experience the tale in a modernized way, though it is important to note that the game will test your patience and push you to the brink.

7) Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Makes Warfare Fun

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Makes Warfare Fun does anything but accurately describe what a real battle would be like, and that's what makes it so fun, despite it being so hard to beat the game. Either way, it's fun to poke around in the game with no real consequences.

8) Slender: The Arrival

Only the OG's will know of this one, and how scary it was for it to come out back in the day when the internet was just making its way into the world. This character, based on a creepypasta story, is now legendary due to the viral imaging of a tall, white, creepy figure. In this game, you're scouring the woods for concealed notes, so as to figure out Slenderman's backstory and make it out of there alive.

And now you know eight more games that were spawned off of a meme. Only time will tell just how many more will come out.
