Duolingo's infamous mascot, the Duolingo Owl, is officially dead. The app announced its demise on X shortly after taking a jab at Drake after Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Super Bowl, and the internet is now in mourning.

While it may be nothing but a social media stunt, that doesn't take away from the fact that this owl has long been with us. It has seen us through several of our phases, a large chunk of which involved us thinking we're gonna learn a new language, trying to do so for about a week or two, give or take, and then abandoning the plan altogether.

And so, in honor of the bright green owl, we've rounded up all of the best memes to pay our respects. Have fun!
