Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates (born William H. Gates III) is among the most successful businessmen and philanthropists of our time. According to Bloomberg, his net worth was $163 billion as of February 2025, making him one of the world’s richest people.

The former Microsoft CEO, the only son of Bill Gates Sr. and Mary Maxwell, has two sisters—Kristi and Libby. Kristianne “Kristi” Blake (née Gates), born in 1954, is a certified public accountant. She graduated from the University of Washington in the 1970s and worked at Deloitte Haskins & Sells. In 1987, she started her own enterprise. On the personal front, she is married to John Blake and has two children.

Bill Gates’ younger sister, Libby MacPhee (née Gates), was born in 1964. She is a therapist for Seattle Family Support. She was initially married to Doug Armintrout, and the former couple raised three kids. Following her split with Armintrout, Libby married Nick MacPhee, a former Microsoft executive. MacPhee currently serves as Principal for Behavioral Health Roundtable, which he founded with Libby.

Bill Gates is a father of three—Jennifer Gates Nassar, Rory Gates, and Phoebe Gates. His eldest child, Jennifer, has been married to Olympic equestrian Nayel Nassar, and the couple has one kid. However, there isn’t much known about the billionaire’s children.

For those unaware, Gates raised all three of his kids with his former wife, Melinda French. The ex-couple started dating in 1987 and tied the knot in 1994. However, nearly 25 years later, in 2019, Melinda reportedly started meeting divorce lawyers. Ultimately, in 2021, after 27 years of marriage, the couple parted ways officially. In May 2024, Melinda also resigned as co-chair of The Gates Foundation, which she co-founded in 2000 with Bill.

Initially, the charitable organization was known as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Following her departure from the organization, she got $12.5 billion for her charitable work as a part of a separation agreement. Melinda also took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her statement. Following his divorce from Melinda, Bill started dating Paula Hurd, the widow of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd. Gates talked about his “serious girlfriend” in his 2025 interview on NBC’s Today,

“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula. We’re having fun, going to the Olympics, and enjoying lots of great things together.”

Although it is uncertain when Bill Gates and Paula Hurd started dating, they have been pictured multiple times together in public since 2022.
