The Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is now the father of three kids, as he and his wife Brittany Mahomes have been blessed with another baby girl –– Golden Raye, on January 12, 2025. This is the third child in a very unique naming pattern for the family.
Patrick Mahomes and his family have a metallic theme for their children’s names.
Their first child, Sterling Skye Mahomes, was born on February 20, 2021. Her name, Sterling, is in line with the rest of the family’s naming to metals.
As reported by US Weekly, in April 2023, Brittany answered a Q&A in an Instagram Story, speaking about the background of the name Sterling. While discussing the dog the couple obtained at that time, she said:
“I got Steel in college and named him that. We then got our second dog and was gonna name her Sterling because it went with Steel perfect … Then I said no, I want that to be my daughter’s name, so then we came up with Silver to go with Steel.”
Their second child, Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, was born on November 28, 2022. He is lovingly called "Bronze."
Speaking on the Kelly Clarkson Show last year in January, Brittany mentioned:
“My second child, Patrick Mahomes III. I have to say his real name or his dad will get mad… His name is Patrick [and] we call him Bronze.”
The third child is Golden Raye born on January 12, 2025.
Patrick Mahomes welcomes baby girl
Golden Raye was born on January 12, 2025. Her arrival was revealed to fans through a heartfelt Instagram post by Brittany Mahomes, with a beautiful black and white picture of their hands, interlocking the baby’s tiny feet in between. In the background, there was a wooden placard with the baby’s name. The caption read:
"- Golden Raye Mahomes- 1/12/25🎀✨"
In July 2024, the couple posted a playful Instagram video featuring the two children in which they announced Brittany's pregnancy with Golden Raye.
Family background
The couple began dating in 2012 while they were students at Whitehouse High School in Texas. Their relationship began with Patrick giving Brittany a Valentine's card with a rose.
The two continued to keep in touch despite attending different institutions; Patrick joined the Texas Tech University and Brittany the University of Texas at Tyler.
Since the time Patrick began playing in the NFL, Brittany has always been by his side. When he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs as the tenth general pick in the 2017 NFL draft, she endorsed his accomplishments via her channel.
Patrick popped the question in September 2020 in a nearly decade-long relationship at Arrowhead Stadium. They exchanged vows a few days after Valentine’s Day in an over-the-top wedding that took place in Hawaii on March 12, 2022, while their baby girl was dressed in a tiny white dress.
