The recent Pacific Palisades fire has left everyone shocked due to the devastation it has caused. On January 7, around 10:30 am, a wildfire broke out in LA’s Southeast of Palisades Drive (Pacific Palisades), forcing more than 30,000 to evacuate.

After the Palisades fire started in LA County, many videos surfaced of victims escaping from the site of the disaster. One such viral clip saw two men trapped in a Los Angeles home with their dog as everything was ablaze outside. In the video, one of the men is heard reassuring the dog that they “are gonna be okay,” as both are trying to avoid the panic.

The video garnered the attention of the netizens, who didn’t shy away from commenting on the matter. One user, displaying their confusion, posted,

“Why are they still there?”

The comments continued to pour in, with people praying for the family, suggesting helpful measures, or even criticizing the supposed victims.

Internet reacts to the horrifying “Palisades fire” video captured inside a Los Angeles home

The video featuring a dog and two men inside an LA home surrounded by the Palisades fire drew diverse responses from internet users. Here’s a look at some of the posts from X:

“Lord Father God, I pray for this family, and just like you jumped into the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, I pray you do the same here. In the mighty name of Jesus,” a user prayed for the men and the dog.
“what are people supposed to do when this happens?,” another user asked curiously.
“Get in the shower with the dogs and turn it on. That’s the only idea I have. My heart breaks,” someone suggested a measure to survive.
“That is terrifying, I hope they had a way out or a pool or something to get in. Or really that they and the house survived. We need an update on this if someone can…,” another user wrote hopingly.
“This is scary. This a great example of why following evacuation orders immediately is very important!,” someone noted.
“Did they get out? Are they okay? God help them,” another user enquired about their safety.

Multiple other comments were asking for an update on the concurrent status of the people in the video.

The men and the dog were reportedly evacuated amid the Palisades fire

Fortunately, the people trapped inside their LA home were evacuated, as confirmed by the person who posted the original video, @TheKevinDalton.

In reply to his initial post, Dalton wrote,

“I am told the dog and both his humans were able to safely evacuate the property.”

Another post from @IntelPointAlert suggested that emergency crews were en route to help the “Person(s) trapped in home surrounded by fire.” The LA property was reportedly located near 19355 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu.

For those who are unaware, the Palisades fire has grown uncontrollably to 2,921 acres. At the time of writing, there is “0% containment,” and “wind gusts up to 60 MPH” are expected to hinder the suppression efforts further until Thursday, January 9.

In the wake of the emergency, evacuation points have been established, certain roads have been closed, and schools are directed to remain shut in Pacific Palisades.
