Donald Trump has tossed Tulsi Gabbard's name to the list of potential candidates for Director of National Intelligence in his upcoming cabinet. Tulsi Gabbard is a former Democrat from Hawaii who also ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.

In recent years, she has shifted her political allegiance, becoming a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump and emerging as a conservative media personality.

As Tulsi Gabbard's nomination thrusts her back into the spotlight, let's take a closer look at her husband, Abraham Williams, who has consistently supported her from the sidelines throughout her career.

Who is Abraham Williams and how did he meet Tulsi Gabbard?

According to a story covered in Style Magazine, Abraham Williams is a freelance photographer and filmmaker who met Tulsi Gabbard in 2012 while volunteering on her campaign for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. During this time, he took many well-known photos of Gabbard.

According to Tulsi Gabbard, their relationship began a year and a half later when a mutual friend invited them to a birthday party. The couple married in 2015 in a traditional Vedic ceremony on the eastern shore of Kahaluu, Hawaii, at a secluded, peaceful location surrounded by palm trees and flowers.

Williams' mother, Anya Anthony, had worked in Gabbard’s district office in Honolulu before they began dating, and Tulsi Gabbard has since described her as a hardworking and service-oriented individual.

As noted on his website, Williams is an accomplished filmmaker with experience in documentaries, feature films, and music videos. His work includes multiple award-winning short films, like Last Taxi Dance and Knight Watch. Known for his expertise in Steadicam operation, he focuses on capturing the human element of stories, from cities across America to war zones in the Middle East.

Tulsi Gabbard and Abraham Williams went through several rounds of IVF

According to Style Magazine, Tulsi Gabbard discussed the couple's challenges with fertility during an interview on Meghan McCain’s Citizen McCain podcast.

Gabbard revealed that she underwent multiple rounds of IVF, sharing the emotional toll it took on both of them. She explained:

“As hard as this was for me, it was extremely hard for Abraham to just watch this heartbreak over and over again,”

She mentioned that they chose to pause the IVF treatments when she ran for president in 2020, ultimately deciding to discontinue the process entirely.

Despite fertility challenges, Tulsi Gabbard and Williams have managed to maintain a strong relationship. Old posts of them wishing each other on their birthdays are available on their social media.

Tulsi Gabbard— a controversial pick for Director of National Intelligence?

According to a report by NBC News, Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s choice for director of national intelligence, can face criticism for allegedly promoting Russian propaganda. According to the article, she would take on the role without prior experience in the intelligence sector or serving on a congressional intelligence committee.

Gabbard, who served in the Hawaii Army National Guard and was deployed to Iraq with a medical unit, has consistently opposed U.S. foreign policy, describing it as overly imperialistic.

in February 2022, just as Russia was about to attack Ukraine, Gabbard took to her X account to argue that the war and suffering in Ukraine could have been avoided if the Biden administration and NATO had considered Russia's concerns about Ukraine joining NATO, as this would place NATO forces right on Russia's border.

Another report by CBS News confirms that in 2019, Hillary Clinton suggested that Russian operatives were 'grooming' a Democratic presidential candidate to run as a third-party contender— a reference to Tulsi Gabbard, who did in fact run for the presidential elections in 2020.

That same year, Tulsi Gabbard stated that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was 'not the enemy of the United States' since Syria did not present a direct threat to the country.

CBS News also reported that Gabbard had met with Assad in 2017, defending the meeting as a 'fact-finding mission,' though by 2019, she referred to Assad as a 'brutal dictator.'
