Tiffany Henyard is the mayor of Dolton, Illinois, and the supervisor of Thornton Township. She has been making news since she was booed out of the meeting held by village trustees that she barged in. Henyard has now reportedly sued the trustees for illegally holding a meeting.

For the unversed, Tiffany Henyard was elected mayor in 2021 after serving on the Dolton Village Board of Trustees for eight years. While she holds an important position, Henyard is no stranger to several controversies. After becoming the talk of the town for multiple alleged scandals, most village trustees turned against her.

Why did Tiffany Henyard sue Dolton Village trustees?

According to a report by ABC 7 Chicago, the trustees of the Dolton Village Board held a meeting on Monday night at the Park District. Dolton Park District was allegedly chosen because the Village Hall could not accommodate the crowd. Henyard held a separate meeting at the Village Hall but had to cancel it when not enough trustees showed up.

Dolton then drove to the meeting at the Park District and arrived late. As she tried to speak at the meeting, she was booed out of the room. The public kept shouting till she exited the meeting. Per Chicago Tribune, before leaving, Henyard said,

"Another thing I want you to understand about the board of trustees is they are all corrupt, every last one of them up here is corrupt."

Following Tiffany Henyard's exit from the meeting, the trustees continued their discussion and called her out.

Taking to her official Facebook handle, Tiffany penned a cryptic note asking people to stand with her.

She wrote, "Message for today. I need all my black sheep to stand with me. You are not alone if God is for us then who can be against us. Stay Focused God is working in your favor!!"

About two days after the meeting, Henyard sued the village trustees for illegally holding it. Only two trustees, Andrew Holmes and Staley Brown, support her. In the court documents, she also named the Dolton Park District and the Dolton village administrator.

Henyard also accused other trustees of not responding to the meeting she held at the Village Hall. She is allegedly seeking the Village Hall to be considered the primary site for meetings and asking the court to invalidate the discussions from the previous two meetings.
