Who is Seed to Table owner Alfie Oakes? Naples grocer’s home reportedly raided by federal agents

On November 8, 2024, the American news outlet NBC reported the alleged raid of Alfie Oakes' home and packing plant at Immokalee by multiple agencies including federal agencies.

So, who is Alfie Oakes? Alfie Oakes is a farmer, businessman, entrepreneur, podcaster and more. Oakes, born in Delaware, is the owner of Oakes Farms, an agribusiness operation as well as Seed to Tables, a supermarket store in Florida.

According to NBC2, Alfie Oakes' house and his packing house in Florida were raided by State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies including the Defense Criminal Investigative Service who investigates. The reason for the agents presence at Oakes home has not been publicised yet.

But, the raid at his home is not the first time, the Staunch Republican and MAGA supporter is making the news, he has become familiar to people for his controversial take on COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter Movement.

As Wink News reported at the time, this controversial Facebook post at the time provoked petitions from about 6,500 people, with the demand that "Lee and Collier county school districts to cut ties with its vendor, Oakes Farms".

In response to the remarks and the reactions he got for the post, he replied through Wink News interview that,

When I wrote the Facebook post, I could not even imagine it being interpreted in any way as racist...
Everyone that knows me knows that I’m the farthest thing from a racist. I have 2,300 employees of all different races and ethnicities...
It’s a tragedy what happened to George Floyd, 100 percent, it’s a tragedy, but it does not warrant, you know, defunding the police department or having no law and order.

He also recently had a lawsuit filed against him for the allegedly failing to repay a loan of $4.8 million he took out of Farm Credit of Florida, according reports.

Alfie Oakes, raised in Florida, got into farming and business at a young age and used the profits from his farming operations to start the business, Oakes Farms Market in 1994. Now, Oakes Farms has grown to have multiple farms and other associations like Seed to Table supermarket and more.

Apart from his business establishments and presence in agribusiness, Oakes is also a supporter of the republican party and very outspoken about his support of Donald Trump.

In 2020, he represented Collier County as a State Committeeman for the Republican Party of Florida in 2020, but he could not rerun in 2024 because of improper filing of documents, Naples Daily News reported at the time.
