Before marrying Feldman, Savannah Guthrie was married to British journalist Mark Orchard. According to Yahoo Entertainment, Savannah Guthrie and Mark Orchard met when they both were assigned to alleged high-profile cases.
Guthrie, a former corporate lawyer turned journalist, was then a national trial correspondent for Court TV. She was in California in 2005 covering the Michael Jackson child molestation trial, a case that also brought Orchard, who was then working with BBC News.
Mark Orchard is an experienced broadcast journalist and producer who has worked at several major news organizations. He is now a senior broadcast producer for Full Measure With Sharyl Attkisson, an investigative news magazine series.
According to Full Measure, His career path led to London, where he rose as a White House correspondent. Orchard traveled with the White House press corps from 2000 to 2004 and covered former President George W. Bush’s first term.
After working as a correspondent, Orchard joined Al Jazeera English in 2006 as a senior news editor. His expertise brought him to Al Jazeera America, where he served as an executive producer from 2013 to 2016.
At the time when Savannah Guthrie and Mark Orchard met, Orchard was married to Anne Kornblut, a journalist at The New York Times. His marriage dissolved soon after he met Guthrie. Guthrie and Orchard exchanged wedding vows in December 2005.
The couple separated by 2008, and Guthrie was living in an apartment in Washington, D.C. They later got divorced in 2009 after four years of marriage. Guthrie supposedly did not request alimony or financial support and cut Orchard from his surname, which was confirmed by the court documents.

After ending her marriage with Orchard, Guthrie worked on taking her career to the next level and focused more on her work at NBC. During this period she met Mike Feldman, a communications consultant, at his 40th birthday party in 2008 through mutual friends.
As per NBC, the duo soon started dating and got married in 2014 at a ceremony in Guthrie’s hometown of Tucson, Arizona. The wedding was also a chance to announce their pregnancy, as they were having their first baby together.
She admitted in an interview with People magazine that she didn’t have her life “together,” before she met Mike Feldman. Raising her kids as part of an interfaith household, Savannah Guthrie has often stated how she blends her Baptist beliefs with Mike Feldman's Jewish heritage, to instill faith in her children.
