Sam Altman denied s**ual abuse allegations by his sister in a lawsuit
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman denied s**ual abuse claims made against him by his sister Ann Altman. In a lawsuit filed on January 6, 2024 in Missouri, Ann alleged that Sam started abusing her at the age of three and abused her from 1997 to 2006, when he was 12 years old.
Ann Altman stated that the abuse led to severe emotional distress and financial troubles owing to medical bills from treatment for her injuries.
In response, Sam Altman and his family released a joint statement on social media denying the allegations and calling them “utterly untrue.”
The statement said the family was concerned for the wellbeing of Ann, who was in recovery for mental health issues, and that Sam had been financially supportive of her, according to BBC News.
The lawsuit calls for a jury trial and more than $75,000 worth of damages. Reports online say that she has previously accused her brother of such behaviour on social media.
