Rebecca Kutler is all set to be interim MSNBC president as Rashida Jones has decided to step down as network president. This transition comes as MSNBC’s parent company, Comcast has agreed to separate many of its cable TV networks into a new publicly traded entity, tentatively called SpinCo. This new company will encompass MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and the Golf Channel.

In a staff memo announcement, Rashida Jones said:

“I came to this decision over the holidays while reflecting on our remarkable journey and the many successes we’ve achieved together as a team.
