A recent video of a verbal altercation between John Rocker and Pat Mahomes’s father, Pat Mahomes Sr, has gone viral. The footage captured both men almost engaging in a physical fight before they were separated, and Mahomes was led away.
Patrick Lavon Mahomes Sr, father of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is a former baseball pitcher like John Rocker. The 54-year-old Texas native is currently married to Trisha Mahomes since 2021. Before Trisha, Pat Sr was married to Randi Martin, with whom he had two sons.
Randi and Mahomes Sr reportedly married in the 1990s and got divorced in 2006. They raised two sons together — Pat II and Jackson. Apart from kids from his first marriage, Patrick Mahomes Sr has another son, Graham Walker, and two daughters, Avery and Zoe Mahomes.
On the professional front, Pat Mahomes Sr played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1992 to 2003. He spent four years of his early MLB career with the Minnesota Twins. Apart from the Twins, he was also a part of the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pat Mahomes Sr played his last MLB game with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2003.
Pat Mahomes Sr and John Rocker had a verbal spat over a joke
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, a video featuring Mahomes Sr and Rocker from New Orleans’ Bourbon Street made it to social media. As mentioned earlier, both former MLB pros were seen engaged in a verbal spat in the viral clip. The video was supposedly shot around the Super Bowl weekend.
In the clip, John Rocker is seen approaching Patrick Mahomes Sr enthusiastically. However, Mahomes Sr was seemingly irked over something and didn’t respond in the same manner. Pat Sr is seen saying something to John Rocker with aggression, following which things escalated.
The former MLB stars were separated from each other and, eventually, Patrick Mahomes Sr was taken away by the people who were standing with him before Rocker arrived.

After the clip went viral, John Rocker responded on his official X handle (@itsJohnRocker) and provided the reason behind the spat. He wrote:
“This f*****g loser can't take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bulls**t weekend even more.”
Patrick Sr replied to Rocker’s post. He wrote on his official handle, @PMahomes:
“You really haven't changed one bit in the last 25 years. Keep my name out of your loud mouth.”

Rocker replied:
“You wouldn't have had the ba**s to say that to my face the other night. Lanky a** clown.”
Pat Mahomes Sr later called John Rocker a “menace to society” on his X page, while Rocker posted another response on X:
“Mahomes is lucky he got away. I would have Rocked him.”
For those unaware, John has previously targeted Patrick Mahomes II and the Kansas City Chiefs on X and has even said the quarterback “s*cks.” Furthermore, Rocker also has a history of passing controversial remarks on X and in real life, which includes his infamous Sports Illustrated interview in December 1999.
