Lynn’s mother, Patricia Ban, was a gemologist certified by the Gemological Institute of America. Patricia, known for her impeccable taste in fashion and jewelry, encouraged Lynn's love for design and creativity at a young age.
According to The Straits Times, while in New York, Patricia frequently took Lynn on shopping detours to high-end department stores such as Bloomingdale’s, igniting her daughter’s interest in designs.
After studying art history and literature at the Gallatin School of Individualized Studies in New York, Lynn made her mark through Lynn Ban Vintage, her curated collection of vintage gear sold at Barneys New York.
By 2011, she had moved into jewelry design with a personal line of jewelry that caught the eye of international A-list celebrities.
