Amid the ongoing drone sightings, a particular drone was recently found in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which belongs to energy start-up Amogy. As these sightings have become more common, the internet is abuzz with conspiracy theories. Naturally, when an abandoned one was found, it raised questions about the owner.

Amogy is a sustainable energy startup that is working on using ammonia as a renewable fuel source for aerial vehicles. The company was founded by Seonghoon Woo and Jongwon Choi. Woo serves as the company's CEO, chairman, and co-founder.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology, Woo seemingly moved to the US for his degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since then he has been working in the field of science and technology.

Earlier, he also worked as a Research Staff Member at IBM in New York.

According to the New York Post, the police responded to an email tip through which they were alerted about a drone found on the sidewalk of Fifth Street between Morris Avenue and Market Street in Brooklyn. They recovered the drone soon, which appeared to measure over five feet in diameter.

The police got more information from a passerby who told the investigating officers that he worked in the building which housed the headquarters of the aircraft manufacturer.

Amogy reacts to their drone being found in Brooklyn amid the controversy

Amogy CEO Seonghoon Woo confirmed that the drone was his company's property and had been on the sidewalk for about a month. He claimed that it was left there after a company party. He further added that the drone was inoperable.

A company spokesperson also penned details about the drone's use to the news outlet via email. The spokesperson claimed that the flying object was used to demonstrate its clean energy technology about three years ago. Since the demonstration, it was displayed outside the company's headquarters.

The spokesperson also added how the company has been cooperating with NYPD as the drone was in their possession for a brief period.

"NYPD took possession of it for a brief period. Amogy cooperated fully with NYPD and the drone has since been returned to the company after NYPD determined the drone was not a threat."

After the drone was found on the sidewalk, the NYPD dispatched an Emergency Services Unit truck to disconnect its nitrogen compound and ensure it was safe to transport to the 88th precinct.

The drone sightings in the US have got people thinking about conspiracy theories. While some conservatives claimed it is a part of the blue beam project, others believe the drones belong to either Israel or China. However, the Pentagon has confirmed that they are not a threat to the public.
