Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, known online as “Destiny,” began to trend online on December 1, 2024, over rumors of a leaked explicit video involving far-right commentator Nick Fuentes. On December 1, the said video surfaced online that allegedly showed a man resembling the streamer in an intimate encounter with another man purported to be Nick Fuentes.
The video triggered widespread speculation, with many believing the claims asserted in the clip. Several social media users also unearthed a clip from a 2022 livestream, when Nick Fuentes visited Destiny for a discussion.
Shortly after, the streamer was banned from Twitch. Fans believe that the ban stemmed from him hosting self-proclaimed white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who was also issued an indefinite ban in 2019.
Netizens assert that the timeline of the visit aligns with when the alleged video was documented. The rumors were fueled by screenshots of Destiny’s chat logs from the same period that allegedly hinted at interest in male intimacy.
Shortly after the alleged leaked video went viral online, Destiny denied the allegation floating online. The streamer said the video was not authentic and attributed the leaked texts to a friend's hacked account. Addressing the video he said:
“There have been a lot of rumors and deepfake AI videos that have been spread lately that look somewhat convincing. I’m not gonna do a deep intro into all that."
Addressing the chat logs, he continued:
But I will say a friend of mine’s account that I talked to three or four years ago ended up being compromised.
Destiny then went on to focus on the humor in the situation saying:
"Sometimes you just have to roll with the memes. He added, ”Sometimes it happens.”
Destiny's career and personal life
Destiny began his streaming career in 2011 on Justin.tv, which was later rebranded as Twitch, which is a global platform now. Initially, he started as a videogame streamer, but later, leaned into far-left political commentary as the divisive genre attracted more eyeballs online. He has changed his political stance multiple times over the years.
The streamer has courted controversy over his seemingly extremist views. In the aftermath of George Floyd's death, he slammed the protestors saying, he would prefer if alt-right forces ‘mowed down’ those who were looting and torching stores.
The statement cost him his Twitch Partnership. Shortly after, he was banned from the platform. The ban came after he hosted Nick Fuentes and made comments about trans-women athletes, suggesting they should not be allowed to compete in the women's category.
The streamer also has a son, Nathan, who in the 2022 livestream, said ‘Biden Sucks” and shared some hot takes on Ukraine and Russian conflict. He was 11 years old at the time.
Last week, the streamer's ex-wife, Melina Goransson, a Swedish internet personality, alleged that he had an affair with Lauren Southern.
