Christine Weston Chandler, known online as Chris Chan, began trending on X on Monday, November 25, 2024, after, in a livestream, she alleged to be expecting her first child with alleged Finnish girlfriend Flutter. The announcement was met with shock and concern from several social media users due to the vlogger’s troubling history.
Chris Chan is a blogger, webcomic creator, and YouTuber, who has roughly 112,000 followers on Twitter and has been the subject of intense online derision for over a decade after the creation of the “Sonichu” character and webcomic. She described herself as a woman several years ago. Her X bio says:
"I am Mrs. Christine W. Chandler Sonichu, Goddess of the Nations of Cwcville, Comma, and the Commodore Consoles, and the Creator of Sonichu and Rosechu. She/Her."
In a page called Wikitubia, Chan, who came out as transgender in 2016, said she was diagnosed with high-functioning autism when she was young. Chan, who went to Piedmont Virginia Community College in 2000, managed to get a degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design in 2006, despite being suspended for a year due to soliciting.
Chan was arrested in 2021 in connection to a possible sex crime against a family member widely believed to be her elderly mother who had dementia. She was charged with incest after a leaked audio recording in which a person alleged to be Chan detailing physical relations with her 79-year-old mother, was circulated online.
Chandler had claimed in the past, she has lived alone with her mother since her father passed away in 2011.
Chris Chan’s announcement that she was expecting her first child in the Summer of 2025 with alleged Finnish girlfriend Flutter has raised concerns online. Several social media users were stunned at the announcement.
“I can’t believe this is happening. Who would have ever thought Chan would defy all the odds and impregnate a woman???” a social media user said.
Another concerned social media user added, “Someone check in on the child a couple years from now.”
Chris Chan has made troubling statements about incest in the past
Netizens' concerns stem from Chan's arrest on incest charges. According to Insider, she had made a concerning statement in the past supporting incest. In August 2016, Chris Chan said in a Facebook post that she had dreams of being intimate with her mother. Shortly after in a Facebook Post Chan allegedly defended mother and son in Mexico who claimed to be in love,
"Although incest is quite a controversial topic, there are circumstances where there would be not so much harm as one may think, feel or believe. Unless the s*x act was abusive, hurtful, or would result in an unwanted birth of a physically or mentally challenged child, I would not judge or persecute the parent and child."
Following Chris Chan’s arrest in 2021, her attorney, David Heilberg told Insider most of his client’s statements stemmed from her need to be provocative. He said:
