Calvin Robinson, a right-wing priest, had his license revoked after he tried to mimic Elon Musk's contentious "salute" at President Trump's inaugural rally.
Robinson addressed the crowd at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington D.C. last weekend, where he noted that “this is the last stand for Christendom.” While delivering his final blessing to the crowd, however, he struck his chest and stuck his arm outward, akin to what Musk did at last week's ceremony, drawing intense backlash as many have compared it to the Nazi salute.
As for who he is, Calvin Robinson is a British citizen. He is renowned for his conservative views, while he initially served at the Church of England, his ousting prompted him to make way to became a deacon in the Free Church of England instead. However, his latest stint was with the Anglican Catholic Church, which adheres to “traditional Christian morals,” the official website states.
All we know about Calvin Robinson's actions that triggered his church to denounce him and revoke his license
Speaking at the National Pro-Life Summit, Calvin Robinson said:
“It’s make or break time. The whole of the old world is crumbling. Every country in Europe is embracing death. America as far as I can see is the only country fighting for life. And that's down to you guys, so God bless all of you for what you're doing, please keep doing it, I hope that I can encourage you, and my heart goes out to you,” he concluded, before doing the "salute."

Footage of Calvin Robinson from the summit has since been doing the rounds online, drawing millions of views. It even made it to the official Right Wing Watch account on X. The Church issued the following statement in the wake of the video going viral on the homepage of its official website:
"While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition. Mr. Robinson had been warned that online trolling and other such actions (whether in service of the left or right) are incompatible with a priestly vocation and was told to desist. Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC."
The statement goes on:
"Furthermore, we understand that this is not just an administrative matter. The Holocaust was an episode of unspeakable horror, enacted by a regime of evil men. We condemn Nazi ideology and anti-Semitism in all its forms. And we believe that those who mimic the Nazi salute, even as a joke or an attempt to troll their opponents, trivialize the horror of the Holocaust and diminish the sacrifice of those who fought against its perpetrators. Such actions are harmful, divisive, and contrary to the tenets of Christian charity."
Calvin Robinson also took to X to address the backlash on Wednesday, where he revealed that he "received hundreds of nasty calls, texts, voicemails and emails today from very bitter, angry, vile leftists." He noted that "they are often the very thing they accuse you of. I am not a Nazi. But I forgive you of your ignorance. My heart goes out to you!"
