A well-known secondary education school located in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, California known as Palisades Charter High School (PCHS) has sustained significant damage due to the flames of the wildfires spreading in Southern California.
The fast-moving Palisades Fire has prompted massive evacuations and widespread devastation across the region. The Palisades Charter High School is famous not just for its academics but for its famous alumni and for making cameos in countless Hollywood movies and television shows.
With an impressive list of celebrity alumni Palisades Charter High School stands as one of the largest cultural landmarks in LA, as per Newsweek. Among its most illustrious alumni are the renowned director, producer, and writer, J.J. Abrams, who directed films including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Jeff Bridges, the Oscar-winning actor famous for his roles in The Big Lebowski, and Crazy Heart.
Other notable alumni include Forest Whitaker, Katey Sagal, and musician Will.i.am, who is a member of the Grammy-winning group, The Black Eyed Peas.

Palisades Charter High School faces significant damage in raging wildfire
The Palisades Fire, which started on Tuesday, has scorched almost 3,000 acres and is completely uncontained. According to BBC News, the fire has left much of Palisades Charter High School, including its sports facilities, badly damaged and has also affected some of the classroom structures nearby.
Local officials, including Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent, Alberto Carvalho, confirmed the damage but have offered few details regarding the extent of damage caused.
On Wednesday, the school issued a statement saying that the school is currently closed and that they will provide updates regarding the start of the Spring semester. The school advised Students and families to avoid the area and adhere to all evacuation orders.
The Palisades Fire is one of several wildfires currently raging in the Los Angeles area. Up to 1,400 firefighters, aided by aircraft and ground crews, are trying to fight the flames under challenging conditions created by the Santa Ana winds.
