On December 8, Sunday, the Anderson County Sheriff's office announced that the body of the missing woman Shelia Thompson was found inside a car submerged in a creek near West Church Road and Alpen Road in Easley, WHNS reported. Shelia was reported missing by her family on December 3.

According to reports, her death was ruled an accident and the Anderson County coroners presume Shelia lost control of her car while driving West Church Road before going off-road and crashing down to a creek.

Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are conducting further investigation into Shelia's death.

According to a statement given to Fox News Carolina by Shelia's sister, Tony Fuller, Shelia Thompson was a sweet person who held the family together,

My sister is the sweetest person you would want to know. She has 4 loving children, 7 grands, she was very spiritual and loving. She is the glue that holds the family together and she is already missed by the entire family

Details of the event up to the discovery of Shelia Thompson's body in a Submerged Car

According to multiple news outlets, citing a statement released by the Greenville County Police, Shelia Thompson, a 54-year-old from Greenville, South Carolina, was last seen at 10 p.m. on December 2, Monday on Brentwood Circle in Greenville.

Her family reported her missing a day later, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was also reportedly seen at 1 pm on Tuesday driving a 2007 Kia Spectra in Simpsonville.

At the time, the authorities while asking for the public's help in locating Sheila informed that Sheila was suffering from serious medical conditions.

On December 8, 2024, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a submerged car in a creek near West Church Road and Alpen Road in Easley. Fox Carolina also reported that investigators were focusing the search for her on the said location because that was where her phone pinged for the last time.

It is also reported that it is unclear why she was in the area as she did not have any relatives or friends there. Though the authorities have ruled the death an accident they are continuing the investigation into her death.
