The search for missing teenager Keshaun Williams intensified this week after law enforcement reportedly searched for vehicles connected to the teen’s disappearance in Cuyahoga River on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Williams went missing in Cleveland on June 17, 2023, after attending a house party on Gertrude Avenue. He was 15 when he was reported missing sixteen months ago.
According to the U.S. Marshal Piccoli Williams was last seen walking away from the party on Gertrude Avenue and entering a dark-colored SUV with a group of juvenile males.
News 5 Cleveland reported on Tuesday that federal, state, and local authorities said the search for vehicles in the Cuyahoga River was connected to Williams' disappearance. According to the outlet, a black jeep and a second vehicle were recovered from the river. However, police did not disclose if anything was found inside the vehicles.
Earlier that month, Deputy U.S. Marshal Piccoli said early on in the case, they had reason to believe a black Jeep and a suspect vehicle were involved in Williams's disappearance. However, Pisccoli later clarified:
“That had been vetted and is not accurate, however, this new information regarding this dark-coloured SUV is accurate and we believe it to be true.”
Keshaun Williams's family pleaded for his safe return
Earlier this month, sixteen months after Keshaun Williams disappeared without a trace, his family implored for information about his whereabouts (Via WKYC). Keshaun Williams' grandmother said:
“There are (sic) people out here who know what happened to Keshaun, and I pray that you come forth and give the information that you have. I’m not asking you if you have it, I know people have it. We’re just prayerfully asking you to come forth.”
She added:
“I’m just prayerfully asking that somebody come forth with more information to really, really put this thing to an end so our family can get closure for it. We’ve been going through it for over 16 months. It's been a long time.”
In a press conference earlier this year, Keshaun Williams' mother pleaded for her son’s safe return. In April, the teen's mother said:
"He is underage. He has no business being out here without his parents. This is crazy. It’s not safe. It’s not cool. If anybody knows something, please come forward today. Keshaun, if you’re watching this, I love you. I’m going to find you and I’m going to get you home safe.”
Earlier this month, the Cleveland Division of Police and the US Marshal’s office held a joint press conference. They announced a cash reward of up to $27,500 for information about the teen's whereabouts.
Anyone with information is urged to call the U.S. Marshals at 1-866-4 WANTED (1-866-492-6833).
