In a devastating event, a 5-year-old Joshua James McCoy is still missing as the Coos County Sheriff's Office asks for help in finding the little boy who was last seen, on November 9, taking a nap with his mother at his home near Stage Road in Hauser, Oregon, before he was reported missing.

According to reports the little boy, Joshua McCoy, has autism and responds to the name Josh and Joshie, but there's a chance that he might not respond at all. He is reportedly 3ft 6'' tall and thin (50-60 lbs) with long brown hair reaching his shoulders.

The Police are looking for any information on the little boy and asked people with information to call 541-269-8911. KPIC reported the words of Coos County Sheriff Gabe Fabrizio's words, he said,

Joshua was reported missing after sundown on Nov. 9. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office promptly dispatched a Deputy to conduct an initial assessment. Local teams began searching the surrounding areas, and their efforts intensified on the morning of Nov. 10. I don’t think it was reported until later that evening after dark. We started [Saturday] around 11:30 until the sun came up. They were out there searching and they did a pretty comprehensive gray pattern search [Sunday]

According to reports, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at about 1 pm, Joshua James McCoy was taking a nap with his mom at their home on Stage Road in Hauser. Later, at 5:30 pm, when the mom woke up, the boy was nowhere near to be found.

As reported by KPIC, the sheriff informed that the missing report was filed after sundown and the office did a preliminary investigation as soon as the boy was reported missing.

The Sheriff said that the team started searching for Joshua James McCoy as soon as they could on Saturday and the search extended to the next day without any information coming up.

As per KPIC reports the Sheriff's office asked for help from state and federal agencies, and extra assistance is expected to arrive on November 12.

Based on KPIC reports on Monday, "CORSAR, a collaborative search and rescue effort set up between seven counties in Oregon and California" has 61 searchers at the scene looking for Joshua, with the help of K9s, drones, overhead support, etc.

According to Sheriff Fabrizio, they are searching intensely and are looking for any evidence that could potentially lead them to Joshua James McCoy.

The sheriff, though appreciative of the public's help, has denied any civilian searchers because it could potentially make the search difficult and risk contaminating the search scene or any evidence present. But, they might ask for help in the future depending on how the search turns out.
