Where was Atalia Pucheta Martinez found? Investigation underway as missing Mount Prospect woman found dead

The body found in the Busse Woods Forest Preserve near Higgins Road in Northern Cook County on Saturday was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office to be Atalia Pucheta Martinez, a 23-year-old who was missing from Mount Prospect.

The cause of death is not yet available from the medical examiner's office and as per reports the police have also not released much information. According to ABC7Chicago, the investigation is being conducted by the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department and the Cook County Forest Preserve Police along with the Mount Prospect police.

Details on the discovery of Atalia Pucheta Martinez's body.

According to reports, the police said that on Saturday, November 9, a motorcyclist reported seeing a person lying near Busse Woods forest preserve near Higgins about one mile west of Arlington Heights Road, at around 9:30 a.m.

The first responders reached the scene of a female who had unfortunately passed away. After the discovery, the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department and the Cook County Forest Preserve Police began a death investigation, with the knowledge of Elk Grove police.

CBS News reported that the body was identified to be that of Atalia Pucheta Martinez reported missing from a home in Brownstone Court. ABC7 Chicago reported that Mount Prospect police said they responded just before 2 pm, on Saturday, to the 1400 block of Brownstone Court for the report of a missing person, Martinez, whose description matched the body found in Busse Woods.

Patch reported that while the Mount Prospect police were investigating Martinez's missing case, they were able to communicate with the Cook County Forest Preserve Police and other police agencies to confirm whether the body found in Busse Woods was Martinez.

Since the investigation is ongoing there have been no further updates on the case, and no further details regarding the victim are available yet. In a statement released this Sunday, the Mount Prospect Police Department said:

''This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community".
