Footage taken during the Antioch High School shooting is going viral, and in it, students can be seen scurrying in fear for their lives as gunshots go off in the background.

The 17-year-old, who was also a student of the school, opened fire in the cafeteria at about 11:09 a.m., and the incident has since left one dead and one injured. The gunman, a teenage boy, then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

Users have been reacting to the Antioch High School shooting video with disappointment and worry, with some calling for stringent gun regulations. Here's what one user asked:

"So sad, when will this stop?"

Scores online began weighing in with heartfelt sympathy and concern:

"Heartbreaking to hear about the shooting at Antioch High School. Schools should be a place of learning, not fear. Praying for the students, families, and everyone affected by this tragedy. When will this cycle of violence end?" someone echoed.
"Say it with me now: We. Need. Armed. Guards. In. Schools. Why do politicians get them, but our kids don't. Why do buildings for CNN/Fox/MSNBC get them, but our children don't?" another proposed.
"No this country is genuinely so unserious… they won’t even consider banning guns and kids get gunned down in schools damn near everyday but tik tok is where they draw the line…" a third person stated.
"Trying to figure out why we don’t have disguised metal detectors and a guard at the entrance, and proper protocols being followed for everything else! We do it at the airport, we can do it at the schools. Period," someone else opined.

Even more chimed in to share their suggestions and opinions:

"I don’t care about aesthetics, there should be metal detectors and police officers at every school," one more suggested.
"Until they give schools the same protections that courthouses have, this will keep happening," yet another echoed.
"It’s sad how kids seem so desensitized from it that the first thing they think of is recording it…" someone said.
"Heartbreaking to hear about yet another school shooting. Sending strength and prayers to the families of the victims and all the children that witnessed this horrific tragedy. We must do more to prevent these tragedies from happening," a user chimed in.

On the face of it, everyone was upset to learn of the Antioch High School shooting.

All we know about the Antioch High School shooting

As reported by The Associated Press, the gunman has since been identified as Solomon Henderson. Police Chief John Drake said Henderson “confronted” his victim, Josselin Corea Escalante, 16, before he killed her in the cafeteria.

As for the student who was wounded, a bullet grazed his arm. He was taken to the hospital and was subsequently released. Another student was also in the hospital for a face injury, though it was unrelated to the Antioch High School shooting.

The Metro Nashville Police, as well as the federal and state agencies, are looking into “very concerning online writings and social media posts connected to 17-year-old Solomon Henderson” as they try to understand his motive behind the killings.

At the time of writing, it remains unknown exactly what kind of relationship Henderson shared with his victims, though the police say he could have opened fire randomly.
