Trentin Isaac, a missing 16-year-old from Ohio, has been found dead two hours away from his home. His death was confirmed on November 19, and the cause of death remains unclear. The boy had been missing for about a week, having been last seen on November 12.
His body was located in Harrison County in eastern Ohio, and was identified when the Mansfield Division of Police received a call from the authorities in the area where the body was found, Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann has revealed. Per Bammann, the Cuyahoga County coroner's officer then identified the body to be Trentin's.
Trentin Isaac's death is being investigated as a "suspicious death," authorities say
According to the News Tribune, officials said they received several “tips and rumors concerning videos and social media posts allegedly related to Trentin’s disappearance,” none of which was turned over to the investigators. The department then called on anyone with pertinent information “to come forward immediately.”
On November 19, Bammann told WKYC that Trentin Isaac's body was found under “suspicious circumstances.”
“It is being investigated in Harrison County as a suspicious death. We don’t have a lot more to go on at this point. They are processing that scene down there.”
He told the Richland Source,
“The family and the community can be assured that the division will work diligently to not only answer these questions, but also bring justice to the individuals who committed this act."
The detectives noted that "there are more questions than answers at this point." An official statement from the Mansfield PD reads:
"The family and the community can be assured that the division will work diligently to not only answer these questions, but also bring justice to the individuals who committed this act. We continue to seek the public's assistance with any information about this case."
Authorities are also urging the public to refrain from interfering with the investigations or "attempting to conduct their own investigations." They are also calling on the public to avoid contacting any individual who may be relevant to the case.
Trentin Isaac, nicknamed Ray Ray, was “cherished by so many,” a GoFundMe page read. It went on:
"His warmth and presence touched everyone who knew him, and his passing has left an unimaginable void in all our lives."
